fraid so. Think I'll make a stop at Dr. tomorrow, left thumb is giving me trouble. Right knee, Right forearm has a nice knot. Left forearm and left leg has some bark missing. It's all about the insurance now. I only have liability. Try to get a photo of her car tomorrow.

shina 12-11-2007 07:59 PM

Sorry to here that. One thing about sore bones, you'll be able to predict the weather now better than the guys on the news

busterb 12-11-2007 08:13 PM

Thanks.

I'm 64 and have been blessed with that ability for a few years. Didn't need anymore. :headshake

xoxoxoBruce 12-11-2007 10:50 PM

29 year old truck? They'll total it for sure, because it ain't worth shit on their charts.
That sucks, man.... sorry to hear it.

classicman 12-11-2007 11:23 PM

I think this is a good idea. Give the old girl a Viking funeral!

Either that or go all Mad Max (Road Warrior, to the US audience) post-apocalyptic death machine. Repair the mechanicals, (I see radiator leakage at least) and screw the body. Rip the hood off. Weld big spikes on the fenders. Shoot holes in the panels. Stick a shark-fin on the roof.
Course, you'll need to use it just for off road fun, but what else can you do with it?
Either way, we want photos.

Seriously, commiserations, man. A car you've had for 29 years ... you get attached to it.

Although ... odd coincidence that you just found your press clipping about your accident way back when, and then suddenly, this. Strange.

I loved my previous car , after having it for 11 years (didn't buy it new either) I was very attached to it also. Replaced it with the same model too, but it just "wasn't the same." This one's gotta go now too - After 4 years its still like an imposter somehow or a wannabe, I dunno. Hook me up LJ!

Back to Buster - How are you feeling this morning? You ok?

Undertoad 12-12-2007 09:34 AM

I was just kidding on the totalling. It was totalled before the accident.

Over 200k miles used no oil and dependable. Was a great way to Cull dates. "What you think I'm riding in that piece of shit!"

Undertoad 12-12-2007 11:30 AM

Oh, I'm not saying. That was clearly one awesome vehicle and I would be proud to drive it, if it was mine. But the rust...! I don't think it would have passed inspection in Pennsylvania.

busterb 12-12-2007 12:12 PM

Picked up police report while ago. Ain't life grand. This is verbatim from report!

V2 was traveling south on hwy 15 when it collided with V2. V2 was crossing hwy 15 traveling west on Edmund King road.
:wstupid: So it appears as if I hit myself. wtf.

But the rust...!
Yep that silver color was bad for all vehicles that year.

Trebuchet the truck... and try see if you can hit it with a flying anvil!

Sucks though Buster, but glad you're not hurt too bad.

busterb 12-12-2007 12:22 PM

Retraction! The driver was a 17 year old boy. I assumed the lady that asked if I was ok was the driver. Sorry.

xoxoxoBruce 12-12-2007 12:49 PM

Wow! You got hit by a V-2? It was probably the Wernher Von Braun, dude.

busterb 12-12-2007 03:59 PM

Btw. the cops clock is wrong by 1 hr. Didn't get the word about time change I guess???Can you say Keystone?

Undertoad 12-12-2007 04:06 PM

Er.... works for me?

busterb 12-12-2007 04:57 PM

Ut I meant on report. The time line.

Undertoad 12-12-2007 05:32 PM

Oh. Durrrr

Man I am confused sometimes.

Griff 12-12-2007 05:51 PM

Shoot Buster that sucks. I think you posted a pic of the old girl here before. It had less rust than the truck I just dumped... road salt....

busterb 12-18-2007 09:38 PM

Oh Boy. Things are looking up. Rich uncle is giving me 29 bucks raise, per month starting in January. Hell with all that, I'll just buy a new pickup. Not. :smack:

zippyt 12-18-2007 09:55 PM

Man that SUCKS Buster !!!

But you DO have the welding and fab SKILLS to do a
Proper Road Warrior Truck !!!

Anvils Blasting from the bed , BOOOOM !!!!

busterb 12-20-2007 10:26 PM

This is the kid's mom's car. Insurance called today, told me would look at my truck after seeing the accident report. Why do I feel a fucking coming up?
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2156/...00d333ceaa.jpg

xoxoxoBruce 12-21-2007 11:18 AM

They'll tell you it didn't have 70hp/Liter and shouldn't have been on the road.

ZenGum 12-21-2007 11:57 AM

What? It's been ten days and the insurance mob haven't even looked at your car yet? What??
Last time I got rear-ended (should I rephrase that) I had the cheque in my hand (and was driving the "wreck") less than a week later.

While making the photos for RFN thread, the bar code, comb over shot. Thought I'd post about a little woodworking project. I'll get around to explaining it later." Boy, the noise in this shot." Sucks!!!

busterb 12-21-2007 02:16 PM

How can I change photo? Please. I have one with tags.

Decide to do so yourself within 30 minutes of posting. After 30 minutes, you have to throw yourself on the mercy of the court.

As a workaround, just make another post with the other picture. There will be two posts, with two pictures, but if you like the second one better, you'll have it (posted).

classicman 12-21-2007 05:04 PM

I know what you're making there Bb ...

classicman 12-21-2007 05:05 PM

... a mess

OK. Since I can't delete the attachment, why? Here's this

Griff 12-21-2007 08:43 PM

Do you put your weed in there?

xoxoxoBruce 12-22-2007 08:24 PM

I can't delete the picture, I can only delete the whole post, which would make the following posts very strange. Just think of it as before and after photo labeling.

busterb 12-28-2007 10:57 AM

Perhaps this should be in nothing land. But did you ever wake up and wonder , whom did I PO last nite, where did I leave my truck? Of course this never happens to me, jail is too close! BUT! "It's deja vu all over again." I come down for coffee, which fires off at X hr. by timer and my truck is gone! Right to junk yard.
And State Farm Hasn't made a move???? Have a VERY Large New Years! bb

busterb 12-30-2007 04:35 PM

Fruit cake is good for many things.

busterb 01-01-2008 06:22 PM

"Shine's" annual new years bash included smoked deer ribs, boston butts, baked sweet taters, cabbage, black eyed peas w/hog jowl, and cracklin cornbread. Soda pop, coffee and much BS.

xoxoxoBruce 01-02-2008 01:38 AM

Sounds like a good time, Buster.

busterb 01-07-2008 06:54 PM

The project from above. A recipe holder for cabinet door. Remember that I'm a metal worker. The wood was my Dad's from around 40 years ago, when he was in that business. The piece in middle is why I posted in Fail. Glued the clips on too soon. Wouldn't fit the corner clamp.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2197/...6d881e6d37.jpg

busterb 01-08-2008 05:26 PM

State Farm is giving me $500 for my truck, with a 50 buck buy-back. So the guy that cuts my firewood will come and haul it for scrap. One day I'll prolly get part of it back from China at bigbox mart.
E-mail from sister today, wanting to know when my heart test at VA were. Also to check on the insurance policies at Memory Chapel.
Wonder if that's concern or wishful thinking? :reaper: ?

busterb 01-08-2008 09:34 PM

Hopefully the 1st photo is the inside of cabinet door, where the recipes were hanging. Door wouldn't close any more.

So number 2,

glatt 01-09-2008 08:07 AM

Hey Buster, that looks really nice. Much better than the crappy plastic ones you can buy at Staples. No more comments from you about only being good at metal work.

busterb 01-09-2008 09:46 AM

:thankyou:

Happy Monkey 01-09-2008 12:12 PM

Agreed. Looks good!

classicman 01-09-2008 03:46 PM

Very nice - I would like one in golden oak please. srsly!

xoxoxoBruce 01-09-2008 10:56 PM

Nice job, Buster, I'm sure the cook will appreciate it.

busterb 01-14-2008 11:26 AM

Made from my side porch at dusk. I walked closer, pass the tin over wood pile on left. While changing settings, my dog got in on it. Good by deer. Were 7 of them. Poor photo, btw.

busterb 01-14-2008 01:57 PM

BTW. I sold my truck for $150, so I got $600 for the old dude.
Back to VA in Am for Dobutamine Myocardial scan. If they don't screw up and turn out my lights, I'll report on the wonderful time I had there. Can't hardly wait. Might just go now. :smack:

classicman 01-14-2008 03:45 PM

Good luck!!!

busterb 01-14-2008 04:54 PM

:thankyou:

xoxoxoBruce 01-14-2008 10:24 PM

Does the VA understand explosives?

classicman 01-14-2008 10:30 PM

....or flying anvils?

busterb 01-16-2008 02:15 PM

My heart scan went ok, except for waiting around 1 1/2 hrs. for the Dobutamine to come from the pharmacy. The Cardiologist who monitored that part of test told me it went well. That's where they rev the heart up to 13? beats a minute. The x-ray tech let me look at the raw data photos on monitor. Cool, but looked Greek to me. Report in a few days. Right.

BigV 01-16-2008 02:31 PM

13 beats per minute? Perhaps 130 beats per minute.

Very happy and relieved to hear a favorable report, buster. Welcome home.

busterb 01-16-2008 08:26 PM

Hey Dude! The ? mark was because I didn't remember the last number. I'm thinking 138? :smack:on me. Will you never learn to read redneck?

classicman 01-16-2008 08:54 PM

lol - busterb I thought the same thing!

busterb 01-16-2008 09:19 PM

Kinda back on topic of buster's bs.
A few months back a welder, whom i've known for about 50 years called me and asked if I would go w/him to pick up a new truck. For a welding rig.
He bought the iron and worked for days on body. I know the salesman he bought it from. I bought my old pickup from his Dad. I have no doubt that he was had on price. I ask what he was paying for money, said don't know. Boy people must love him. So he goes to TX. on a job and a blood vessel bust in his nose. So too hot to work there. He goes to inspecting in MN., close to where the bridge was.
Driving the 30,000 buck, gas drinking welding rig.
Anyway he only needs 400 hrs. to get his retirement from welders local.
Now he has the inspection bug. He buys a 4 wheeler ( the companys pays perday for a 4 wheeler, cell phone, camera, laptop, milage.) And I have not a clue as to what else. Per deim, yes. All that's tax free.
So, today around 3pm today he call me to take a ride to pick up a $20,??? buck used Ford 4 wheel drive pickup. Been raining all day and I need firewood in house. Anyway I took a quick ride with him, which turned out to be about 5 hrs.
He gets new truck and goes down street, in a right turn lane, goes straight. Raining like hell. Then on interstate driving about 40. I'm following and boy was my butt puckered, just waiting for a 18 wheeler to run my ass over. We get off intersate and he pulls over and tells me. Hey I broke it in already, spilt a beer.
Guess what's on my mind?, How do you pay for all that shit? When you have no idea what the money cost you? I understand that they'er making about 2k a week, but that amount still would give me nightmares. If I can get the amount, think I'll ask LJ or who ever LJ is now to run the numbers.

BTW. They have pipe all around here. 42". Rumor has it at $28,000 a 80' joint. And cost about a million bucks a mile to install.
My question is, where are they getting gas to put in lines? OH Yes! Gas price deregulation. Wonder who's in that bag??

xoxoxoBruce 01-16-2008 10:00 PM

You've got a short memory, you old fart. How many fortunes, in todays money, have you made and pissed away on wine, women and more wine?

busterb 01-16-2008 10:12 PM

MOI?? I spent my money wisely, I'll have you know! All I didn't spend on wine.women, and song, I pissed away

xoxoxoBruce 01-16-2008 10:41 PM
