Do It In the Road?

xoxoxoBruce 10-10-2010 01:52 AM

Nuts, $400 worth.

Cloud 10-10-2010 02:17 AM

(raises eyebrows) that's a lot!

Are these nuts gold plated?

xoxoxoBruce 10-10-2010 08:55 AM

You'd think so the way they've gone up, especially Macadamias and Pistachios.

I've prepared my nuts for winter. :D

elSicomoro 10-10-2010 01:03 PM

Lunch at Long John Silvers...that was a fucking stupid idea.

monster 10-10-2010 08:29 PM

an overpriced, overvalued team warm-up suit for Thor because we're not broke enough/ principled enough to let him be the only kid on the team without one.

And a hot roast chicken and french stick because Hebe and I were starving.

Clodfobble 10-12-2010 08:31 PM

Today I bought a bunch of incandescent light bulbs, because these fucking CFLs are dead to me. 20 minutes to warm up to full strength? Hell no. Mother Earth can just hang on a little longer until LED technology becomes widespread.

Aliantha 10-12-2010 10:23 PM

Nothing yet, but I'm going shoping for a liquor cabinet when Max wakes up.

monster 10-12-2010 10:26 PM

second hand clothes and shoes abd toys, new undies, food, drink, and we're about to buy some agitator dogs.

HungLikeJesus 10-12-2010 10:47 PM

Agitator dogs? My neighbor has six.

monster 10-12-2010 10:50 PM

we just need 4

HungLikeJesus 10-12-2010 10:53 PM

Your neighbors must be more sensitive.

monster 10-12-2010 11:23 PM

They're probably closer -this is a cookie cutter neighborhood.

Will he be providing imput into your choice? :D

Aliantha 10-13-2010 03:58 AM

Actually, I think he contributed to a better discount for cash. lol he's a little charmer when it comes to strangers. They all love him.

Turns out the sales lady just lives up the street from me too, so that also could have helped. :)

GunMaster357 10-13-2010 10:13 AM

Today I bought...

Nirvana 10-13-2010 12:51 PM

Oooh! Let me know where you got it and how much it is, I never seem to have enough!

two empty picture frames (one with a backboard, one without), purple sequinned mask, blonde wig, gallon of milk, left-handed street hockey stick and gas.

This is the new cabinet.

xoxoxoBruce 10-14-2010 02:12 AM

Wino. :haha:

Aliantha 10-14-2010 02:18 AM

hehe...yeah I guess so. Actually most of those wines are reds which we don't really drink a lot of, hence the dust. White wine never stays in the house long enough to collect dust.

I'm going to put some of those glass slide thingies on the wall above to hang my wine and cocktail glasses on. I think it'll look really nice when it's all done.

casimendocina 10-14-2010 08:07 AM

Will there be wine cabinet inauguration drinkies?

footfootfoot 10-14-2010 06:43 PM

49.92 worth of groceries. Hazelnut chocolate was successfully surreptitiously purchased and bagged. I had to drag out the old lemon cookie sleight of hand gambit, but it worked. I am now enjoying, admittedly late in the season, a Mr. Qcumber soda. Very passable, that, very passable...

I bought the hanging racks for my glasses and installed them.

classicman 10-17-2010 10:48 AM

very nice.

xoxoxoBruce 10-17-2010 10:52 AM

Oh yes, that makes it. Good job.

Have you tried Clarks?

(I have majorly hard to fit feet when it comes to women's shoes, I end up buying dude sneakers most of the time, but do have to have actual chick-shoes on occasion.)

Another favorite are Aerosoles.

Clodfobble 10-18-2010 08:12 PM

Oh man, I love Clark's. I have wide feet too, and they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever found. Every pair of dress and nicer-casual shoes that I own are Clark's.

Trilby 10-19-2010 09:58 AM

2 scones. Yum.

A pair of these.

HungLikeJesus 10-19-2010 02:29 PM

Those aren't from Axiom are they?

I bought a Webcaster Gun:

monster 10-19-2010 02:40 PM

That looks fun. Wonder if you can make candy floss with it?

monster 10-19-2010 02:43 PM

don't supposed you can use it with a compressed air cylinder ...I just don't have a compressor lying around...

HungLikeJesus 10-19-2010 02:46 PM

I'm still experimenting with the settings, but it does require a lot of air. I don't think a cylinder would work.

A side benefit is that it has really cut down on the number of flies in the neighborhood.

monster 10-19-2010 02:49 PM

Maybe I could just use tw?

footfootfoot 10-19-2010 03:13 PM

2 dozen eggs, half gallon of milk, quart of yogurt, unsalted blue corn chips.

Undertoad 10-19-2010 03:44 PM

2 lbs Peets coffee - on auto-buy program, so once a month they just take the money out of my bank account and send me desperately-needed coffee. $30.

Two days of overdraft bank fees, since I didn't have $30 in the account. $70.

classicman 10-19-2010 03:48 PM

Gah - That sucks UT. Still cheaper than going to Starbucks

Nope, they're made by a little boutique audio company here in LA called "Avant". I put my deposit down on them today, they will be ready by January.

limey 03-03-2011 02:01 PM

A kindle.

Sundae 03-03-2011 03:41 PM

Oooh - nice!
Not tempted myself. But then much as I appreciated your lickle thingy in Glasgow, I'm not into gadgets. I'll be a book gal for a good while yet. I just prefer moving my eyes rather than moving the text. It may be a learned trait of course.

Today I bought a book keeper-aparter. Doesn't work well when you've just started a paperback. Was better than nothing while I was doing my nails though. Ooh - must post pics in another thread while they are still pristine (for Queen of Hearts tomorrow - we're celebrating World Book Day).

Clodfobble 03-03-2011 05:35 PM

Today I bought a few pieces of professional clothing. You know, not pants, but slacks. At some point here I'm going to have to do better than jeans and clever t-shirts, so I figure I'd better start warming up now.

This huge ass keyboard for youngest son (not the one pictured.) And also a whole bunch of other Christmas presents. Some call me a weirdo (ahem! :) ), but on years when we don't see my hub's kids at Christmas, we try to celebrate with presents on Spring Break and they are on their way here!

This one was a pain to wrap, by the way.

footfootfoot 03-04-2011 10:14 PM

a terrific assload of groceries, like $280 worth, still have to buy meat and fruit and vegetables...

skysidhe 03-04-2011 11:07 PM

That's nice Kerosene.

Foot, that's a lot of grub!

I didn't buy anything today, but yesterday I bought niger/nyger seed.

Cloud 03-04-2011 11:35 PM

That high and still no meat??? Or produce even??

Pico and ME 03-04-2011 11:49 PM

kerosene - I don't understand the 'not the one pictured' part of your post.

zippyt 03-05-2011 12:05 AM

it aint the one in the pic

Pico and ME 03-05-2011 02:42 AM

Yeah, but why? How many times are you gonna have a big keyboard box in your house that isn't the one you got for your son, but your son is in the picture with that box?

Just of sort of threw me is all.
