If I went over the top, it's because my gut feeling says the person in question is a troll with an agenda.

If someone wants to come in here and diss Dubya, you'll get nary a peep from me. Wish death on our troops? Better prepare to get trashed.

- We hate avatars.

- Don't pretend to be a girl.

You're just a barrel of fun, Wolfie.

What the hell did wolf say? I went back over the thread and I see nothing nasty in her posts... :eyebrow:

That was just a tease by cjjulie based on my tease post because Wolfie beat up cjjulie about avatars in the past. I also think avatars make for more fun, but others disagree. It's no big deal really.

I am on a board that has avatar bloat. In addition to the avatar under one's username, this board ENCOURAGES (ick) animated avatars. And the siglines are repleat with banners, animated banners, tickers, and all manner of other things likely to make your eyes bleed.

And the board content is at about the same level.

Trust me, gang, you don't know how good you have it here.

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with wolf. The addition of the avatars is initially cute at best but after the tenth time you see one, the cuteness factor levels off while the signal to noise ratio continues to decline. Likewise for cluttered sigs.

Oh, and another thing ... the avatar freaks can't pick just one of the damn things and stay with it ... for me they serve as a visual prompt to the poster, but that doesn't work real well when they change the goddamned things every three days, each time to something that is more likely to make my eyes bleed and trigger at least a petit mal seizure.

I have been on boards where the avatars remain fairly stable and I don't mind them, but those are boards for grownups.

Hmmm. Does that mean that the kiddies find it easier to hide here, revealed only by the content of <strike>our</strike> their posts?
