I would like to nominate lumberjim. With all of his sock puppets the job would be easy.

My other nominations would be:
Shawnee123
lookout123
case123

LJ 01-02-2008 08:09 PM

if elected, i promise to make you regret voting for me.

SteveDallas 01-02-2008 08:48 PM

That's one campaign promise that's sure to be kept.

LJ 01-02-2008 08:54 PM

my point, exactly.

I'm still here, and still willing to continue as a moderator, if you'll have me.

I'm hoping to resolve the internet access issue shortly, now that the moving and holiday rushes are both over!

Oh, and trust me, you don't want slang having this kind of power.

Really.

It would be kind of like LJ moderating, but without any impulse control.

I'm good with the current crew, and many (most?) of the other names that have been mentioned.

To the moderators, past, current and future: Thank you.

Ibby 01-03-2008 02:18 AM

You ageist mother-scratchers.

ZenGum 01-03-2008 10:15 PM

Since my name has been thrown in the Goblet of Fire, I should say that I plan to leave Japan (and thus my superfast* internet access) sometime within the next three months, and don't know what kind of access, nor how much free time, I will have after that. So I think I had best decline this year. If I am still about next year I would like to put some effort in to the cellar.

*About 20MBPS ... If I could be bothered dealing with the hassle of doing business in a foreign language, I could have fiber-optic all the way to my computer and get about 100MBPS for less money than now. There are some things about this country that I will really miss.

Any posts made by a moderator, or UT himself for that matter, is just another personal position, with no more gravity than any other member.
I know there are members of this board that would like the mods to be "school marms" and keep a knuckle slapping ruler handy. Fuck that.

Thanks for the clarification. I am a mod on another forum and have been a moderator on a major large newspaper forum; on the later it was not a good experience, as everyone wanted the "school mama" approach, which I refused to do... In other words I have some insight into both kinds of moderation behavior. Thanks again.

I voted and I feel so empowered - Its like it gives you the right to bitch later. :D

SteveDallas 01-06-2008 08:43 PM

Later?

Why wait?

classicman 01-06-2008 09:46 PM

later being anytime AFTER you vote

Cicero 01-07-2008 05:44 PM
