I don't think it was the subject matter, per se. It was the recurring nasty, insulting, degrading that seems to come from the pro-gunners on this board. If you disagree with them, you don't have a difference of opinion, you're stupid or foolish, or mentally ill. I think Shawnee just got fed up with it.

I don't think that is a one way street, nor are those reactions limited to gun debate, either. Go back through the forum and highlight any of the landmark threads -- this can be a nasty place.

Once I said my $0.02 there, I saw no need to flog that horse anymore. Now we just need a good thread on Israel and Palestine.
