Also put heat wrap under the rear cylinder exhaust pipe heat shield. Where it goes under my left thigh. Gets really hot. Hope this helps.

Still working on the control housings. I lost a tiny brass ferrule that holds the throttle cable in. Have to wait for new to arrive.

Replaced the front brake lever... Got some stuff done today. I'm tired.

Wish I knew you had these repairs to do, I've got a shitload of aircraft grade aluminum extrusions, like L, square, round, Z, T, and X, shapes up to 8 or 9 inches long. Most excellent bracket material. :smack:

The fairing mount repair kit is made specifically to fix this issue. It's so common that there are several companies /craftsmen building and selling them. So far, there are no more structural repairs required... Knock wood.... I'll keep your inventory in mind though, should I discover new needs. I used cable straps to secure that usb port from inside... Was thinking about a metal bracket....

Vault moment

http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...2c0f058445.jpg

Coming out of my back door... Had to run in and set the DVR to record Game of thrones....

Just noticed that life is pretty fucking good right now.

Spence is going to college... Ripley turning 16 on the 29th. Found her a car with time to spare.

I think she'll be pleased.

Plus, I have a partner that is more than willing to put up with my shenanigans. Yeah. Things are good.

Life is good, plus you have the satisfaction of knowing you earned it... worked for it, worked toward it. You never know if a meteor will fall on your head, so enjoy to the max. The young lady is a keeper, she even let you sell her Yamaha.

lumberjim 06-12-2016 09:39 PM

Not yet she didn't. Fixing to go for a putt on that right now actually. Just need to rinse off.

I got the chrome control housings and button covers done. I left the start and horn buttons black. I don't know why. I like it though.

Oh, and new levers with little skulls on the ends.

Also began laying out the light kit. I went high tech this time. The kit has a central hub that hosts 9 individual light strips. It has a remote control and does neat shit. Like... If I wire it right, when I hit the brakes, all the lights go bright red... ... I'll update that job later. It's involved.

lumberjim 06-13-2016 12:39 AM

I rigged a bracket to hold the usb charger in place out of an old license plate.

http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...5fbd071e9a.jpg

Used excisting holes to bolt it in. Bent the aluminum to support the charger.
