I think maybe it depends on which direction the layers go.
If the outer hair is cut shorter than the inner hair, then it gives the visual impression of curving outward as well as makes the top layers less heavy, causing both visual and real lift. If the inner hair has been cut shorter, it basically eliminates the underpinnings of the outer hair, causing it to be flatter than it would be with proper support. |
I'll just chuck my vote in here for the idea that styled hair can give the idea of femininity more than long hair ...

Speaking as someone who occasionally gets mistaken for a bloke, I have to say having longer hair made no difference to that whatsoever.
Also, I have over the years had a few male friends who have, for one reason or another, dressed and/or attempted to appear female. In my personal opinion the bigger, or longer hair styles were least effective in achieving that. With the sole exception being Jimmie's* beautiful ash blonde wig. But that was super straight and fine, and he had the perfect face shape for it. I tried it on and it just didn't do for me, what it did for him. *a lad J and I flatshared with for short while. Started very friendly as these things do and then broke down into acrimonious fallouts...again as these things do :p |

This was taken Saturday night by Amanda's friend Erin. She had it on facebook before I woke up the next morning. A work associate said I looked scary, my son linked some dating site axe murderer meme. (he's like the world authority on memes at this point)...
anyway... here's that shot... Amanda didn't like this shot of her, but I do. Attachment 38901 |
Yes, you look scary...but scary in a fun movie kind of a way. And Amanda looks great! She reminds me of an actress but damned if I can work out which one

I like that picture. You look like you're having fun.
