BUTCH
Tired of being underappreciated and manipulated by powerful "others," you fight back. Though possesssing a cold, violent outside, you have a soft, scentimental inside. You love your partner, you cherish family heirlooms, and you want nothing more than to be geniunely happy -- but you don't mind having to kill a couple of nimrods who happen to clutter your path.

Honey Bunny
It has to be YOUR way. But when it isn't, you panic, but hold your ground. You keep your gun pointed and trigger finger ready, but you'd never really hurt anyone. Though you like being tough, feeling control, you often enjoy blending in and being part of the ordinary human race.

Hey Syc,
Your pic didn't go through, at least not on my pooter. BTY, I'm 80's Bowie;) .

elSicomoro 10-19-2003 12:00 AM

It's possibly a problem with the server that hosts the image...that photo comes directly from that site, not mine. The photo is showing up fine right now.

Although, based on the computer probs you've been talking about, your firewall could be blocking it too.

elSicomoro 10-19-2003 12:01 AM

This is '80s Bowie:

Syc, your first pic and Griff's pic still don't come through on my pooter, but your second one does. I'm assumming that from Griff's comment *we all* are 80's Bowies....hum, that's interesting;) . Anyhoo, since I don't see those pics on my pooter do you still think that it could be my firewall? If you have any idea what I should look at, in settings?, to fix that I would appreciate the info.:)

LUVBUGZ 10-19-2003 04:33 PM

Crap, when I was brought back to my post none of the Bowie pics come through:mad:. I guess it is my pooter that's the problem, figures:rar:.

xoxoxoBruce 10-19-2003 08:33 PM

I don't think so, BUGZ. i'm not seeing any pictures either.:)
Except Dave's.

Actually, I think he was shocked at being Ziggy Stardust-era Bowie. Poor Pete. ;)

I am the wrong person to ask about technical info like that. But it would seem to me that your firewall is blocking things coming from that site, or that your firewall considers those photos to be "invasive". Until I adjusted my settings recently, the animated smilies on here were not animated, nor did I get the profile button that appears below each person's post.

Then again, your IE could be acting out too...

Hey, I'm Jules. Hell yeah, I'm like a Sammy L. character. Beat that.

Jules
"You don't tolerate shit. The .45 you carry in you pocket is scary, but your words are the real threat, especially when you decide to get Biblical. Try to take it easy, but maintain that edge of yours, which tends to keep people wary in your presence. "

I knew I was the cool bastard in the group.

Oh yeah, I came up 80's Bowie too. Not that I work as any Bowie really...

Elspode 10-20-2003 11:57 AM

I came up with Bowie Now, thus further demonstrating my inherent drabness even while being cool.

Terry Gross did an interview with Bowie a while back, interesting character... cool... matured, I don't buy drab though.

Elspode 10-20-2003 04:25 PM

Maturity is vastly overrated...I think it is a politically correct term for boring.

I should know...I'm 'mature'.

Bowie, on the other hand, is a great deal more talented and interesting than I will ever be, so the drabness of his maturity is offset by his talent. :D

NRA "Banned" List

wolf 11-11-2003 09:28 PM

gee. I don't belong to any of those ...
(I will admit to a brief lapse in which I joined the American Psychological Association, however, this was to secure malpractice insurance for $40/year for my internship rather than $300/year from a private carrier.)

elSicomoro 11-11-2003 09:38 PM

Yeah, but you've probably enjoyed a movie with one of the actors listed...nice try.

Elspode 11-12-2003 12:08 AM

Wow...there is a *shitload* of KC's most prominent and important businesses and their ramrods on that list...a bunch of St. Louisians as well...

Could be all of this has something to do with the current injunction on CC?

elSicomoro 11-12-2003 07:14 PM

I suspect it has more to do with the '99 vote.

elSicomoro 11-19-2003 07:17 PM

Gotta give a shout out to Mute, the UK record label that is the European home to Depeche Mode, Moby and Nick Cave (also the European home of early releases by Sonic Youth, Butthole Surfers, and Dinosaur Jr.), now owned by EMI. Even if you don't like the music, you have to appreciate the site design, which has not changed since I first visited the site in 1997: clean, simple, nice.
