So not only does Tom Brady fail to pull off a miracle for me, he had his worst week yet this season. Whoever heard of a top quarterback scoring 19 points?

I congratulate the Shitmen on the dark magic sorcery they accomplished this week. I am well and truly hexed. Good game/Hail Satan! :)

It was a close one. I didn't think I was going to pull it off.

Good game.

This!

With 286.60 points, River Rats had the highest overall total in the league this season.
But, this...

River Rats (2-2, 778.90 points) remain in ninth place

lumberjim 10-01-2014 11:34 AM

I had a great week this week in all 3 of my leagues. Plus the Cowboys won big on prime time TV. Tough weekend other that that, but at least I had time to watch lots of football

lumberjim 10-01-2014 11:36 AM

And clod, you only needed 45 points as I recall. Not really miracle territory.... But Tommy had a rare bad day. Lost his cool. This has been a weird year. The apparently strong teams have crap records. Real and fantasy

Clodfobble 10-01-2014 03:11 PM

Nah, as it was I lost 179 to 250. I was at 150ish before Tom Brady limped in.

But this week... THIS WEEK shall no doubt be my Waterloo! Ha ha look at my intellectual humor improper metaphors are the height of comedy.

classicman 10-01-2014 03:47 PM

I'm shrewd ... I mean screwed. I'm screwed, yeah that's it.

classicman 10-01-2014 04:06 PM

I just noticed that I've scored the 2nd most points, yet I'm still only 2-2 and 3rd in my division. Damn, I suck.

infinite monkey 10-02-2014 08:18 AM

I was looking at the game center page with me and Toad. I see he has an extra slot called RES with an IR player in it. I tried to add in another player on IR but it still wants me to drop a player. Just wondering how I can get an extra person on my roster. Might come in handy later.

Thanks!

infinite monkey 10-02-2014 08:28 AM

Now even more confused. When I look at just my team I do indeed have the full 20 players in all. So does Tony.

So it must just be something weird in the way game center displays. Nevermind. ;)

Undertoad 10-02-2014 08:55 AM

Now that you reminded me, I dropped my guy on RES as he is out for the season. We have two very strong teams and it will be Rivers vs P. Manning to decide who wins this week

infinite monkey 10-02-2014 11:14 AM

Should be a good game. I hope Rivers performs as well as he did on Sunday.

It'll be a nice day to sit around and watch football and drink beers...after this crazy wedding weekend!

Undertoad 10-04-2014 11:28 AM

Tell ya what, I have two guys who are Probable and this game will probably depend on that. I'm just gonna leave em in there, roll the dice, not gonna change things at 12:55 or something like that. Not a lot of options anyway. Good luck Rivers Rats.

infinite monkey 10-06-2014 11:24 AM

Holy dice-rolling Toadman! You da man!

Great game! It was going back on forth so much on projected winner...very exciting. I made a few crucial misjudgments on my line-up, but likely none of it would have mattered against what will be the new high score of the league for this year.

Hoping to slowly inch my way out of 9th place though, with my otherwise decent weekly score.

glatt 10-06-2014 11:34 AM

Ouch. Spencer creamed me.

Who will be ranked number 1 now?

infinite monkey 10-06-2014 11:36 AM

Toad, is my guess.

Undertoad 10-06-2014 12:03 PM

P. Manning had a banner day out there, and my Probables came through. But the Rivers Rats have the high score so far with 286.40 last week.

infinite monkey 10-06-2014 12:12 PM

Ahh, i thought my score last week was lower. Thanks, man! ;)

Again, I really enjoy football on Sundays so much more with this fantasy league. It's really a lot of fun. So thanks, jim. Even though my adrenaline was pumping as I watched Manning pile on more and more points. But hey, it's Peyton. Who can begrudge him anything?

Also, as I've said so many times before: it's football, anything can happen. Was watching the Browns/Titans game and my friend calls second quarter. She's telling me how she and her husband both (SUPPOSED huge Browns fans for years, more him than her she doesn't really 'get' the game) both picked Titans on the football poll I got on last week because 'they're in it for the money, not the loyalty.' I just laughed and repeated, "it's early, it's football, anything can happen.' (I, of course, always stick with my loyalties come hell or high water and those are Chargers and both Ohio teams and always against Steelers.) So did I resist calling her after Browns came back and won 29-28 and hitting her with a Nelson Haaa-haaa? Well, yes, yes I did. Restraint, my friends, restraint and sportsmanship.

glatt 10-06-2014 12:49 PM

Awesome. I love the Nelson ha ha.

glatt 10-09-2014 11:38 AM

Geez. 7 of my players didn't practice, and 2 are on BYE.

Things fall apart. The center can not hold.

Undertoad 10-09-2014 11:51 AM

Wull theres' your problem right there... you shouldn't have a center on your team

Lol! The poor underrated center.

glatt 10-12-2014 05:48 PM

Man, do I stink this week.

infinite monkey 10-13-2014 04:23 PM

Well, to be fair, you had a bad week for your team. Me, I just made a seriously bad choice. We'll see though. zippyt will probably beat me, what with still having Kaepernick to play.

glatt 10-14-2014 10:14 AM

I don't understand how the rankings work, and it's not just sour grapes that I've fallen to 6th place.

Why aren't the Philly Forktards ranked 1st? They are tied with the other 6 of us for W-L-T records, and they have earned the most total points in the entire league and had few points scored against them. Why are they ranked #5?

lumberjim 10-14-2014 10:50 AM

I Can't get to it on my phone, but on the desk top site, it tells you under manage league. I think it's division record, then head to head... I'll check when I get to work later. And I'm 7th, with the dane record as James, but I have more points scored and less allowed than him! But he beat me week one.

lumberjim 10-14-2014 10:51 AM

I might have posted the tiebreaker system toward the end of last year's thread

classicman 10-14-2014 03:26 PM

I am thoroughly confused. I am moving people around because of the bye week. This sux.

lumberjim 10-14-2014 07:04 PM

TIE BREAKING

which does not help much. I never changed the default which is head to head record.... but we could choose divisional or total points for options.

I think it mirrors the NFL system

lumberjim 10-20-2014 10:06 PM

Are you watching this? That was not a touchdown. This is not real life.

Brown TD - no it's overruled - gets 10 more yards anyway

Undertoad 10-20-2014 10:30 PM

here it is on the replay

http://cellar.org/2014/brown2.jpg

lumberjim 10-20-2014 10:34 PM

Did your wide God dammed receiver THROW a touchdown?

Undertoad 10-20-2014 10:38 PM

yes yes he did.

lumberjim 10-20-2014 10:41 PM

That's pretty fucked up, right there.

Undertoad 10-20-2014 10:44 PM

Weird and wacky game all around, Steelers get an interception off a tip and helmet rebound and score 24 points in three minutes

classicman 10-26-2014 03:51 PM

Since all my offensive players sucked in the early games, I'm gonna need like 100 points from Foles and none for Shady since hes on my opponents team. Then again, I'll take a fantasy loss with an Eagles win in reality any day.

glatt 10-26-2014 07:03 PM

No way! 125.10 points for Roethlisberger and the Chasers left him on the bench!

and she still won

see what had happened was....

welker was in that slot from last week, and she didnt look until friday....after he had played thurs night. so she had to choose between brees and ben.

glatt 10-27-2014 10:47 AM

Oh, I totally understand. But 125 points! That's got to be some sort of record.

glatt 10-29-2014 10:40 AM

I'm holding my team together with spit, a broken shoelace I found on the street, and a little bit of bubblegum. And the Chasers are still projected to beat me with three unfilled slots on their team. If she just fills those slots, I'm dead.

Undertoad 11-11-2014 06:17 PM

Yeah I picked up Mark Sanchez early in the season as an undrafted free agent, and just kept him around on the bench, in case Foles went down.

lumberjim 11-20-2014 02:25 PM

Well, I've clawed and scratched my way into contention at last. I had nearly given up on this season.... Now I'm 3rd place overall, and 1st in my division.

classicman 11-22-2014 06:45 PM

:headshakeI've been ravaged by poor choices, injuries and idiots. Oh, and the Bye has screwed me pretty good too. I thought this was supposed to be fun. Right now I feel like I'm in therapy with my ex-wife. :headshake

glatt 11-24-2014 09:43 AM

I just saw a blurb about Marshawn Lynch and the press. Apparently he was fined $100,000 for not talking to the press after a game, so the next game, he just gave one word answers. Mostly "yeah." Seems like a pretty bizarre thing to fine for. And a lot to have to pay.

To put it into perspective, here's a list of fines handed out this season.

Fighting $8k
Roughing the passer $16k
physical contact with officials $27k

But you don't promote the NFL's business by talking to some reporters in the locker room, and they fine your ass $100,000. Amazing.

Clodfobble 11-24-2014 11:14 AM

Surely it wasn't a one-time thing. I bet he'd been warned, he'd ignored the instructions, they said you do it or we'll fine you, he said "Fuck you, I'm rich biatch!" So they had to make an example.

"Had to" is obviously a bit strong, I don't thing anyone listens to those stupid interviews anyway, but then again if your boss tells you to do something are you just going to ignore him? Non-athletes can't get away with that crap. He only got me 11 points last week, I'm not impressed.

lumberjim 11-24-2014 12:21 PM

wasn't that last year during the superbowl press day? I remember that he got a 50K fine for not showing up on the first day, but showed up to avoid the $100k on day 2. Deon Sanders interviewed him like he was talking to a mental patient that had just come outside for the first time in 5 years.

lumberjim 11-24-2014 12:22 PM

here ya go

On the local late night news, they edited the "interview" to just his answers; I can't find that clip. But this one is fundamentally the same.

In the clip I saw, they only had his answers, "yes" "yes" "yes" "no" "No Juice" "yes", etc etc. It was really funny. Now that I've heard the questions too, it's less funny, but more realistic. The man just doesn't want to talk to the media. And he can afford to pay the price for that decision, apparently. Whatever. Can the NFL fine him for not making sense? Will the non-sequitur answers eventually drive away the reporters who're not getting their questions satisfied? Who knows.

More power to him. He does let his play speak for itself. And as a team, Richard Sherman talks plenty. I think we're delivering a sufficiency of words.

That is therapeutic I'm sure! Good game - the Toads collapsed at the end when their TE left without a catch with a head injury!

classicman 11-25-2014 10:04 PM

Dude. I feel like I should apologize. I went to bed down like 70. I still don't know how that happened.

Undertoad 11-30-2014 03:25 PM

Spence and I are now projected to end up near 300 each!

http://fantasy.nfl.com/league/445717...center?week=13

lumberjim 11-30-2014 04:14 PM

He's paying attention. Says if he wins, he will be number one over all ranked

Undertoad 11-30-2014 06:35 PM

Help me, Peyton, you're my only hope!

classicman 11-30-2014 08:34 PM

I own this GD team, my coach sucks and I want to fire him.

Undertoad 11-30-2014 11:24 PM

Peyton collapses, congrats to Spence!

lumberjim 12-01-2014 10:24 PM

Gah! 2.8 points shy of a vital win. Cock.

Clodfobble 12-02-2014 07:05 AM

Same here!! Only 90 points behind. Ruff Riders just barely eked out that win.
