Nice job with the summation UT, that was really thoughtful.

Look how loved you are Bri. It's awesome.

limey 02-09-2009 12:23 PM

WB Bri!

Elspode 02-09-2009 12:27 PM

Hi, Bri. Awfully glad you're back home with us! For the terminally unable to concentrate, *why* were you in the comedyless hospital?

ZenGum 02-09-2009 05:01 PM

:D

A hospital? What was it?

It's official! I'm bipolar! YAY! TMI? The steroids I was on for a year (for the cancer) have made me bipolar II apparently--that's the working theory anyway. I am just so thrilled to be nuttier than previously was!

I was in the ICU for three days with a heart monitor on. No Comedy Central, the f**kers.

Shawnee123 02-09-2009 05:18 PM

Who needs comedy central when you're comedic all by yourself?

Glad you're back. :)

DanaC 02-09-2009 05:30 PM

In fact now that you're really fuckin' bi-polar* I think it's high time you carve yourself a career as a much-loved comedy genius :P

You'll nail it, honey. You always do in the end.

* I believe that's the correct medical term?

It was a big building with a bunch of rooms where sick or hurt people go...but that's not important right now. :lol2:

I slay me!

Anyway, I was in the hospital from the third until the night of the fifth. I'm back home and getting slowly better. I need you guys. *sobs* I really need you!

Welcome back, little lady. It's been dull here without you.

When you've walked a mile in my shoes, you can give me some advice. Until then, I'd appreciate it if you'd just MYOB where I'm concerned. You don't care for me and I don't care for you, so---what's the point of communicating?

classicman 02-09-2009 09:55 PM

I'm sorry. I'll refrain from further comments.

This message has been deleted by classicman. Reason: I'm an asshole

I was just wondering how difficult it would be to quote a post deletion ... and it turns out that it's not too hard; so, those who aren't logged in can now read it!

DanaC 02-10-2009 04:29 AM

And?

HungLikeJesus 02-10-2009 08:54 AM

I thought it was funny.

DanaC 02-10-2009 09:06 AM

no...I meant, and how difficult was it?

HungLikeJesus 02-10-2009 09:50 AM

I was referring to CM's deleted post.

LabRat 02-10-2009 10:35 AM

Good luck Brianna. I did a lot of learning about bi-polar disorder when one of our grad students was diagnosed. Hopefully your brain won't take you on too many wild rides, and when it does it's quickly brought back to home.

Do your best to take care of yourself. Glad to see you back! :)

fargon 02-10-2009 11:29 AM

Welcome back, don't go away anymore.

Sheldonrs 02-10-2009 12:15 PM

I thought so too, It was received that way by her so I deleted it & apologized. At this point - whatever. shrug.

xoxoxoBruce 02-10-2009 02:27 PM

So did I, but she wasn't in the mood for it. Unpredictability is one of the reasons I love the bitch. :lovers:

I will try to explain my point here and be reasonable about it, fair enough?

Being recently diagnosed with an illness caused by the measures used to fight a different illness is probably, somewhere down the road, a funny, joking, ha-ha on you, kind of thing.

It being so very RECENT, however, and me still trying to FIND MEDS that work without making me MORE insane or a total cripple, I didn't find much humor in the remark---esp. coming from someone who likes to bait me. Having what I have is NOT a "special time" just quite yet for me. It's not like PMS or a headache.

MMMM'Kay?

Aliantha 02-10-2009 03:44 PM

Try lithium. It's worked wonders for my friend. Maybe it wouldn't work for you, but knowing what she's been through and assuming your situation is similar, I know she was willing to try anything to put some perspective back in her life.

OK - I'll just say that the way you posted this misled me to think otherwise. ------->

Thats fine - I apologized, There was no malice intended. As you said you really don't care for me anyway - no problem. Be well & take care of yourself.

That's what my Ex takes. Along with Clonopin (sp.?) and something else. It works for his Bi-Polar disorder too. When he doesn't wash them down with a gallon of wine anyway.

Aliantha 02-10-2009 04:14 PM

Yeah...my friend goes a bit nutty when she drinks if she's out of her comfort zone. All the paranoia comes back and it can take her a long while to settle down if she's not in the right environment.

Colonial Colonel William Prescott [et al.] - "Don't shoot until you see the whites of their eyes."

NoBoxes - "Don't reply until you see the whites of their posts."

If you highlight my previous post, you'll find that the answer was always there.

Man. That's why I wished you good luck. I know how hard finding just the right balance can be...and then once there, it's just goes off for no apparent reason. I've seen it firsthand. Lithium is the standard first line of defense becasue it is so effective. Just be careful because there are so many things that can cause it to be metabolised differently that it's quite east to reach toxic levels in a very short time if you aren't being closely monitored, especially at first.

I know you have a nursing background and probably know this, but just in case.

::hug::

Trilby 02-11-2009 01:02 PM

thanks, Labrat.

::hugback::

I'm sure I'll be okay...eventually.

OnyxCougar 02-11-2009 01:51 PM

*hugs Brianna* I know what it's like to have to walk away for awhile, glad you're back, and I hope you find the right combination of meds to help you get back to a healthy norm. :)
