No one guessed my last set...Ozomatli's "O Le Le"

"I don't want to live with that
And you don't want to take it back
And I don't want to be a rat
And you don't want a kitty cat"

elSicomoro 06-23-2002 09:40 PM

Local H--"'Cha!' Said the Kitty"

"Now what would you do
If you could fuck with me or my crew
But you can't, so don't even think about
Steppin' in the muthafuckin' house"

Chewbaccus 06-24-2002 10:50 PM

It's Snoop...DAMNED if I can't remember the song.

Curse you, Syc. Curse you in multiple languages.

It HAS Snoop in it, but it's not quite Snoop. :)

elSicomoro 06-28-2002 09:58 PM

Okay, so it was Tha Dogg Pound--"What Would You Do"

"I have faith in these desolate times
A roar down the road of a rumbling war
I have faith in these desolate times
A chill from the eyes of
a man of political skill
I have faith but for how much longer?"

elSicomoro 07-14-2002 11:33 PM

Terence Trent D'Arby--"I Have Faith in these Desolate Times"

Here's something a little more old school

"You start a conversation you can't even finish it.
You're talkin' a lot, but you're not sayin' anything.
When I have nothing to say, my lips are sealed.
Say something once, why say it again?"

Heh. I don't pretend to know French and I was going all from memory, so I left that out so as to not punish you with my retardified mis-spelling of it. Thanks for tossing it in :)

elSicomoro 07-16-2002 12:40 PM

Warch pretty much had it...it's "Qu'est Que C'est," which translates to "That is that it is." I have their 2CD best of, which I was going to jam to the other day...then I forgot. I'll have them ready for the Discman tomorrow.

So, are you gonna toss out some new lyrics or what? ;)

dave 07-16-2002 01:08 PM

A little teaser

"I wanna devise a virus
To bring dire straits to your environment
Crush your corporations with a mild touch
Trash your whole computer system and revert you to papyrus
I want to make a super virus
Strong enough to cause blackouts in every single metropolis
Cuz they dont wanna unify us
So fuck it total anarchy
Can't nobody stop us"

If you know this, you kick ass. If not, you should, especially those who like Ozomatli.

matt 07-28-2002 11:46 PM

Deltron-mothafuckin-3030 "Virus".

That CD rules.

"If Jesus is the straight path that saves
Then I'm condemned to live my whole life on the curve
On the crossroads with the Devil
I'll dwell and I'll count my years..."

Cracker--"Low"

Lyrics to come momentarily...

elSicomoro 09-20-2002 11:35 PM

And now, lyrics:

"I'm gonna walk on up to heaven
I'm sure you'll see me there
Might be the last dead man to make it
Hell yes, I know that I'll get there."

Bonus points if you can name the singer. The "group" uses various singers.

matt 09-21-2002 11:10 AM

Recoil, "Strange Hours" off the "Liquid" album. The exact singer issssss *looks in cd booklet* Diamanda Galas?

:D :D :D :D

*lyrics inna few*

matt 09-21-2002 11:13 AM

New lyrics:

"Look at me, I always get the blame
But I can't even learn to spell my name
I like to read, I like to write
But where I live I learn to fight
So don't you ever say that we're the same."

What could it be?!

Undertoad 09-21-2002 01:21 PM

That's Electronic, from their second album. (I don't know song titles since I started playing CDs in the car.)

"I wanted everything for a little while,
why shouldn't I?
I wanted to know what it was like
But I pushed you too far,
and you started laying down the law
till I didn't love you anymore

Now you can pull a little bit
There's a little give and take
And love will stretch a little bit
But finally its gonna break"

BZZZT! WRONG!

That's Electronic alright, but its "Gangster" from their FIRST, self-titled album.

"Game on!"

Undertoad 09-23-2002 10:13 PM

OK, then mine was "Wrong", Everything But the Girl.

What am I supposed to do now?

warch 09-23-2002 10:21 PM

Due to the irony of your "Wrong" selection, I think its a "do over".

The first one is Peter Gabriel "Solsbury Hill".

Second one is actually just called 'One of These Days'.

Stevie Wonder--"Village Ghetto Land"

I can't believe I'm about to post the following lyrics...it's a running gag between Rho and I.

"If a picture paints a thousand words,
Then why can't I paint you?
The words will never show the you I've come to know."

Slow death, immense decay

something by Manson, I am sure-

There will be no more Marylin Manson CD's from now on, in my collection anyway. How about this one? (I had to try at least one, so here goes.)

Nic, if I remember my googling, your song was "Sniper" by Harry Chapin.

"The way you touch me babe you know it makes me whole
When you're fucking me it powers up my soul
I know it's ok I know I feel like a
I want to break you down and make you cum"

I barely remember being drunk at the time. I am not apologizing for drinking though. I think the Dead Milkmen song I was thinking of is "Beach Blanket Vietnam", even if it never was the song those mysterious lyrics came from. I give up, what is it please? I am dying to know!

elSicomoro 11-17-2002 03:34 AM

My last set was "Heavy Flow" by Moby.

"I am too connected to you to
Slip away, to fade away.
Days away I still feel you
Touching me, changing me,
And considerately killing me."

j03L10T 11-17-2002 08:03 AM

Not much of a Moby fan but highly suprised. Trance/techno music just doesn't make me want to dance, and I was also very disgusted with the "tomb raider" soundtrack which made me want to park my car on the side of the road and just hurl the cd somewhere into something really hard. I gave it away as a gift to a friend and she said it almost made her and her husband want to groan, and not in a good way.
