The Colts got lucky and find their wildcard matchup with the Chiefs somewhat like a bye
...call it a free practice.
For the Cowboys, its like they finished first, avoiding the Giants and the Eagels.
They get to face an easy opponent in the Saints.
The Patriots vs NY Jets is gonna be a good one, it looks 50/50 in my eyes.
I could say the same about the Philadelphia Eagels-NY Giants Match-up.
The Spreads will determine my picks for the later two,
although I think the Jets will be a gimme as the Patriots will favorites for sure.
Gooooooooooooooooooooooooo Eagels!

GMAC Bowl

Ohio - Southern Mississippi(-6,5)

The difference between theese two teams is really big, and although most bowl games so far have been close regardless of teams differences, I can't see this one being remotely close.

Bet on the Southern Mississippi

BCS Championship

Florida - Ohio State(-7,5)

There is no doubt that Ohio State is the best team in the country.
Florida will not be able to stop their offence.
Although Ohio State's defence is not up to par, you'd have to imagine this being a high scoring game and Ohio State should win by a few scores.

Bet on Ohio State!!!!!

N.F.L Pointsreads

Kansas City Chiefs - Indianapolis Colts(-6,5)

The Chiefs and the Saints are easily the two worse teams in the playoffs at the moment.
They've got this whole imagery set up regarding the Colts being weak defencivly,
and you know, the stats won't disagree with them either.
Fact is, the Indianapolis Colts have a solid defence to accompany the greatest offence in the NFL.
First of all, over the first half of the season, they had over 15 players in the injured list, most from the defence!
In the second half of the season they had already secured enough wins to relax every other week.
Add to that the fact that the Colts with Superquarterback P.Manning pass the ball which results in the Colts defence having more work to do.
The Colts have a very good defence, and IMHO, are very good against the run.
I'm sure that creates a chuckle from some of you, but it is real.
Johnson will not have the kind of game most are expecting.
Just watch how easy these colts will make it to the AFC championship game.
6,5 points is a joke of a spread!

Bet on the Colts!!!

Dallas Cowboys - Seattle Seahawks(-3,0)

This is probably the best of the week.
The media has been kicking the Dallas Cowboys down to the ground.
So Dallas lost against the weak lions!
In my eyes, thats a good sign. It shows that Bill has his priorities straight!
Ok, so Dallas has a weak running game, so what?
Their passing game is amazing ever since young Romo came along.
Owens, Glenn and Witten are solid options and will all shine very brightly against this extremely weak Seahawks defence.
I really like Holmgreen, but it seems as though he has expired along with his team.
The only reason the Seahawks are even here is because they play in the weakest division in the NFL.
The fact that Seattle is 3,0 points favorites in a game where they will lose, makes this a late Christmas present!

Bet on the Cowboys!!!!!

New York Jets - New England Patriots(-8,5)

These teams are a lot closer than you think.
The New York Jets offence is greater than that of the Patriots, this because of its passing game!
Alright, I admit that the Patriots defence is still a solid one and obviously of greater quality than that of the Jets.
One of the main reasons I'm recommending the Jets here apart from the pasing game and this enormous 8,5 pointspread, is the fact that the Jets defence has really showed some suprisingly good signs over the last quarter of the season.
Sure they'll tell you how great the Patriots are, but as i've said on many occasions, they are on their way down the hill. Next year? The Patriots will not make the playoffs.
Of course the will tell you that the only reason that the Jets are playing in the wild card match is because of their relativly easy program. The thing is, they'll be telling you all this to help you bet on what already seems like an easy wager on the Patriots.

Bet on the Jets

New York Giants - Philadelphia Eagels(-7,0)

What a dilemma for me. I'm a die hard Eagles fan that has to bet against my favorite team in the wild card game cause the spread fixers have it all wrong.
I am aware that Strahan is out, Shockey is injured and E.Manning is as terrible as his brother is amazing, but i must stress how good this New York Giants team is.
The Media has it all wrong pounding on the Giants like they do.
NY remains one of the absolute best defences in the NFL.
Offencivly, they are amazing despite the quarterback.
Barber and Jacobs make up a great 1-2 in the running game, and should put up some excellent numbers as well as run the clock.
On the other hand, My Eagels would have won this game with Donovan.
Now I am aware of how great Garcia has fit in, but I'm afraid he will have some trouble in this matchup.
The Eagels offence against the Giants defence is one of the main reasons I'm taking the Giants here.
In my eyes, despite how far my eagels have come, the giants are the main threat that the Bears will have to face.
I really hope that My Eagels win this game, but my money is on the 7,0 point underdogs as they are just as likely to win this game.

Bet on the Giants

W.HI.P 01-05-2007 01:19 PM

Great defencive gambling on the NFL is now a thing of the past.
All you can do now is make 4 tickets of 3's on these 4 matches.
The way you would do this is as follows:

1st ticket:
Kansas City Chiefs - Indianapolis Colts(-6,5)
Dallas Cowboys - Seattle Seahawks(-3,0)
New York Jets - New England Patriots(-8,5)

2nd ticket
Kansas City Chiefs - Indianapolis Colts(-6,5)
Dallas Cowboys - Seattle Seahawks(-3,0)
New York Giants - Philadelphia Eagels(-7,0)

3rd ticket

Kansas City Chiefs - Indianapolis Colts(-6,5)
New York Jets - New England Patriots(-8,5)
New York Giants - Philadelphia Eagels(-7,0)

4th ticket

Dallas Cowboys - Seattle Seahawks(-3,0)
New York Jets - New England Patriots(-8,5)
New York Giants - Philadelphia Eagels(-7,0)

Lets say we wager $250 on each of these bets.
That would total the amount of $1,000

At 7/1 per ticket:
If you were to win all 4 games, you would win $7,000.
But lets say we lose a game, we would cash out $1,750.
Thats the best defencive gambling we can do under the circumstances

Absolutely!!!!

There is some Huge money on this one, both on the spread, but mostly on the clear -3,5 point win.

W.HI.P 01-08-2007 06:15 PM

This week, although only 4 out of 5 so far, was the greatest economical gain of the year for me, obviously because of the amount wagered.

I predict next week to be even better!

Early clue: Ravens are going down!

Sorry - I genuinely thought it was a post saying Liverpool would win, bet on Liverpool. Which when I read it (albeit quickly) I disagreed with. I came back to reread it, couldn't find it and posted for that reason. It wasn't intended to say, "HAHA You're wrong!" regardless of how you had worded it.

I understand the difference between football and soccer. I thought this was a betting thread and the other was simply a sports discussion.

W.HI.P 01-09-2007 06:20 AM

Sure it is a betting thread, but why would anyone bet on anything other than the NFL when it is such a sure thing.
That particular post, broke 2 rules. First of all, its reasoning was based on it being a premiership match, showing how superior liverpool is to Arsenal, both on the pitch, but even more so with priorities.
The only time I would EVER recommend an FA cup match is for a very very small team to beat a major team, thats based on most serious major teams throwing matches for the FA cup as it is without purpose. Also of course ecause of the price which could range anywhere from 4/1 to 15/1.
I mean, what major team involved in the champions league would allow their team to progress in something so small as the FA cup???
Only Wenger...he's like a child....the mans got to go, or Arsenal will be fighting to avoid relegation in the next few years.
and two, most importantly, the game was 33 minutes into it when the thread was created...now what is the point to that?
I mean, if you can't bet on it, why post about it?
I had just woken up, and looked at W-Hill, judging that it was Saturday, I figured it was for the premiership and was starting at the regular time premiership matches start on Saturday.
I have to make sure i drink my coffee first so i can see straight from now on.
I try to call my games 3-5 day in advance so the can be wagered on.

Undertoad 01-09-2007 08:19 AM

According to the back of my envelope, since posting here you are 53-19 on NFL games. That's 73.9%. That's utterly incredible. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, in real time, I would have thought you were editing after the fact.

We didn't talk about the Dawkins flying tackle. He didn't have to jump 5 feet into the air and put his claws out like Wolverine. The man is possessed. It's beautiful to watch.

Shawnee123 01-09-2007 08:47 AM

You know what? week 1-2 & 3 were 3 of my 4 best weeks, and that was just before i came here to, I've got myself over 77% on the year.
More importantly, based on the defencive gambling system which is explained throughout this thread, I am, 18 weeks straight with profit.
Meaning that there hasn't been an NFL week with my picks and system where you would have lost money.

Just Wow, I mean its unbelieveable.
The team is just amazing.
This year was meant to be ours, think Mcnabb!
OF COURSE we're gonna beat the Saints, it'll be SOOOO easy to.
...and you know what? We're not that far from the superbowl at all.
YES, the Bears are much closer, but we are a competitive team to them. Think about it for a second.................
The NFC Final:Chicago Bears vs Philadelphia Eagels
Our defence kills their offence just as much as their defence kills our offence. It'll be a low scoring close game!!!!!
Can you imagine?

W.HI.P 01-09-2007 10:21 PM

Shawnee, its just money. How was i suppose to know they'd all pick Ohio State with the 7,5 spread.
They simply take the money wherever its wagered.
Its NEVER straight up in games that are heavily wagered.

Thats what I'll be depending on come this weekend in the NFL.
there are 2 sure bets(Eagels,Colts), and 1 very good one(Bears), the 4th is pending(Chargers) ...The spread will say a lot about the later 2

Good move Jasonmethod, good money still to come even though the best of them all is ending(NFL).
I hope you have patients, cause some of the bets to come following the superbowl are long term ones, but they are always very easy as there are always false realities forming all over the place, in all sports.

Indianapolis Colts - Baltimore Ravens(-3,5)

This is what I call FREE CASH!
EASILY the BEST BET OF THE WEEK!
First of all, you all must understand that the same people collecting the (tens of)billions of dollars wagered this week are the same people that control the media.
Now, if i controlled the media, and also collected all that money,
I would try to use the media to mis-direct the people that will be wagering the money.
THAT is exactly what they're doing!
LOL @ the Ravens.
LOL @ everyone walking around brainwashed thinking that these Ravens have the ability to actually beat the Indianapolis Colts

I stake my reputation on this game along with way to much money of mine and all of the people that surround me who have been making a profit off my picks and system this year.
LOL at the Ravens being -3,5 point favorites

BET ON THE COLTS !!!!!!!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Philadelphia Eagels - New Orlean Saints(-5,5)

Here's some more brainwashing!
Never have I ever seen more fixed games to favour a team than this year with the Saints.
Ok, it was ok for a week.... almost expected,
New Orleans needed something to cheer about after the disaster,
first game was a nice gimme and called for,
but NEVER did i expect them to let this team into the playoffs without a team,
and thats exactly the situation.
The Saints are the worst team of the 12 that made the playoffs(Wildcard included).
Yeah yeah, I can hear your responses,
but all those little things you have to say about these saints have been fed to you over the past 5-6 weeks by the media.....
The same guys that are gonna take your money when you bet on these Saints.
Now I'm an Eagels fan, and saying all this actually hurts my team.
I could have just said that the Eagels are the *hit, they're too good they're super, bet on them,
and of course you would have all believed me after the fact.
But I like to be honest, YES the Philadelphia Eagels are great.
But this is not a fair matchup.....there are 18 teams in the NFL that are better than these Saints....thats reality, count on it, BET ON IT!
I'm LMAO @ the 5,5 points

BET ON THE EAGELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Seattle Seahawks - Chicago Bears (-8,5)

The Bears are going to practice in this one.
Show me a matchup in this game where Seattle has an edge.
There isn't any.
Seattle's defence is terrible!
ANY offence would look good against them.
Now lets not even get into Seattle's offence vs the Bears defence.
It is a joke, as is this game.
The -8,5 point spread on the other hand is our only enemy
as the Chicago Bears seek nothing more here than the ticket to the NFC final.
Honestly though, disregarding all emotions and feelings, and based on the fact that it is neccesary to wager on this as it is one of the keys to this weeks defencive ability,
I must say that it is much more likely that the spread will be covered
as the balance is heavily one-sided in every aspect of every matchup of this game.

Bet on the Bears

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

New England Patriots - San Diego Chargers(-4,5)

I'm kinda glad that the Patriots actually beat the Jets last week
as now I actually have something to wager on......
I mean if the jets were here, how much would the spread be? -17,5 points? something like that.
Of course the Chargers will win this game.
Its the end of the line for the Patriots....see you in 10 years or so!
Some people think its just LT, but you know, there's more to it.
The San Diego chargers defence is one of the best pass rushing teams in the NFL,
and Tom Brady is no Peyton Manning..He will get sacked!
The Patriots can't stop LT, and the more they try, the more Rivers will prove how good he is.
There will be no stopping this San Diego Chargers offence.
4,5 points is tricky, no doubt,
but just as the game above, it is much more likely that the Chargers will cover.

Bet on the Chargers

New Orlean Saints - Chicago Bears(-2,5)

Since the first week of the pre-season, i've been calling the Chicago Bears, the Superbowl Bears.
I'm no fan, but IMHO they are by far, the best team in the NFL.
The Saints have been the true money makers for the world's bookies.
The media has been constantly brainwashing everyone to bet on them, and even though they're here in the NFC final, anyone who bet on them, lost their money...
At the begining of the week, based on the fact that this team has been obviously pushed to this point(For various reasons), i was afraid that they'd be pushed more.
BUT, the same people doing the pushing are the same people taking the money, they're also the same people who use the media to pursuade people to wager their money one way or the other.

Straight up? This will be a blow out.
If there's any outside intervention, it will simply be a bigger blowout.
Nothing whatsoever indicates that the Saints will be pushed further than this point.
2,5 points is nothing in this one.

Bet on the Bears!!!!!!!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
AFC FINAL
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

New England Patriots - Indianapolis Colts(-2,5)

I suppose this match-up looks like a close one in most peoples eyes.
The Indianapolis Colts offence is one to be watched in awe.
P.Manning: We are watching the best quarterback in the history of the game at work.
I'm sure it helps that he has the options that he has, but he is throwing the ball perfectly!
He cannot be sacked, for even when his line collapses,
he trots back diagonaly and completes the perfect throw almost every time they attempt it.
I think I proved my point last week regarding the colts defence which held Larry johnson to 32 yards in the game.

The New England Patriots are dying!
It kinda reminds me of the Raiders. Instead of just accepting the fact a few years back and look at building a new team, they grabbed every 40 year old around and destroyed their team just for one more year of good game.
OK, the Patriots situation isn't that bad, but its pretty close.
This game is a team game, and although the Patriots have picked up some really really good players these past few years, they are not kids, and the contracts signed assure that the Patriots are living their final year in the spotlight, and it will take plenty of years to rebuild this franchise so that they may be seen in the playoffs again.
I don't believe in this way of running a franchise, it seems to me a desperate team trying to get a final gasp of air before the ship sinks.
Certainly not superbowl material, and certainly not a team.
Its more like key units throughout trying to justify their large contracts.
Much the opposite of what the Ravens have accomplished throughout the past years(contract wise).

So yeah..... 2,5 points?

Bet on the Colts!

SUPERBOWL

Indianapolis Colts - Chicago Bears

From what I see so far, with the spread ranging between 6,0 and 7,5 for the Colts, it looks like this game will be played straight up.
The money looks like it'll be spread balanced between the two team.
The brainwashing has stopped, so it looks like it'll be a good one.
So there is no sure money bet here, so TAKE IT EASY!
Bet a little either way if you must and enjoy the game.

You have a lot of respect here with the acuracy of your analyses. Respect is a slow, hard uphill. Don't throw it away on a comeback which is essentially a one-way invitation to jump on a luge.

I've missed your predictions, even though I disagree with some of your fixing theories in Europe. I'm not a gambler, though -too cowardly.

He could simply keep his distance and co-exist here, but his motives come from previous pwnage as you can clearly see by his only kind of approach in my direction. Get over it King!

Greeks applauded the Turks after their superior showing on the pitch.
My prediction had nothing to do with preformance on the pitch.
It was based on a pre-determined match based on politics.
Not the usual pre-determined match based on money which are amazingly acurate.
You can't win them all.

I don't know what you mean by me coming from another site. I'm not a member anywhere else. I don't follow you around, I just participate in this place like you do and sometimes we are in the same place. That only seems natural. You think you have 'pwned' me before? That's weird because I don't think anyone agreed with you on the other thread.

I know that you can't win them all, but you didn't say, "I think it will be a draw", you said:

Clearly you either made this up or were mislead by someone else. I'd just like to know which and why. You seem to really dislike me and I don't know why. I don't dislike you, but if anyone is going to basically make things up, as it seems you did, then I'll call them on it if I feel it's a situation I know enough about. I think I'm being pretty reasonable here. Please don't get aggressive with me; it's not nice, and it's not cool, especially over the internet.

This is why I thought The Greece-Turkey game was fixed.
Imagine if anything like this happened during the Greece-Turkey match.
War would be the result

King 03-30-2007 01:32 PM

Fair enough. But you accept now that it wasn't?

Sundae 03-30-2007 01:50 PM

Just ignore him and his silly "football is fixed" conspiracies King. Anyone who responds in his OTT way isn't worth having a reasonable discussion with.

I don't have a reason to doubt all American betting is fixed because I know nothing about it and no-one else here calls him on it. But he's never been able to back up his ridiculous claims about Sheffield Weds/ United and he lost all my respect then. I don't beat a dead horse, so I dropped it when you did, but it seems he can't keep his obsession with fixing alone.

After he deleted a post in which he wrongly predicted the outcome of a game, and offered no explanation until I asked about it, I was even suspicious of his other predictions. However my brother (who follows American football) looked at them and said that the man knew what he was doing. Kudos to him for that at the very least.

Shawnee123 03-30-2007 02:02 PM

Yep, history of deleting posts where he was wrong.

"4 out of 5 dentists..."

Flint 03-30-2007 02:04 PM

I think his predictions were correct, it was what actually happened that was wrong.

MLB

New York Mets-St.Louis Cardinals
The Mets are IMO a better team than the Cardinals.
In this particular case though, based on the fact that the best pitcher in baseball is taking the mount "Chris Carpenter" I'm gonna go with the St.Louis Cardinals on opening day. It pays 1,68

Bet on the Cardinals!

I just wasn't going to let the original, 'it's fixed' comment pass without calling on it out. He's basically said that he saw the news item and came to the conclusion independently about the Greece-Turkey game being fixed, which is very presumptuous, but I can see how someone might come to that conclusion if they're the kind of person who buys into these theories. To be honest W.HI.P, I don't think it's necessary for you to always look for these conspiracies where they don't really exist, but I guess that's your choice. It just seems to me that it's very unlikely that footballing authorities in Europe would do this, and even if they tried, so many people would be involved that it would quickly come out in the press. It might be more likely to happen elsewhere in the world. I really don't think that any violence that there could be between Greece and Turkey fans would actually lead to war, despite the tensions that there are. Turkey wants to be a part of the EU, its hardly going to attack a member state over a football match. Plus they're both members of NATO. Anyway, I hope there's no hard feelings between us, and I'll let you get back to the point of this thread, unless you want to discuss this some more.

Who the fu<k are you people invading this thread?
What is your point here?
Have you actually taken the time to read this thread?
Do you have any idea who it is you're talking to?

Ok, thats funny.

But what I mean is, that through this particular thread i've got people that now have $200.000 who only started in week 1 of the NFL season with a $20 wager, so pointing at me when Chris Carpenter has a bad day is absurd.
It shows one of two things: Ignorance or motive.
Either one, its uncalled for.

I can very easily not continue with my predictions(Which just so happen to surpass the best of them that Yahoo have to offer).

Sundae 04-02-2007 02:13 PM

This is a public forum
No one owns the threads (except UT of course)
There is such a thing as an ignore button and you are welcome to use it

I intend to right now because I don't want to feel responsible if you leave in a huff - if my bro says you give good betting advice I assume you do, and people here probably value that

Clodfobble 04-02-2007 03:40 PM

Hey W.HI.P, you mentioned before you were trying to catch the eye of some employers in Vegas... if you ever get a job there, I assume you'll have to stop posting here, huh? Man, I wish I lived in Canada.

I made my comment as a Cardinals fan, as a bit of a joke.
