I am perpetually cold, so I wouldn't mind being very warm most of the time.

..so I think. 'The grass is always greener', thinking.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I ordered pizza today for lunch/dinner. It was a thin crust Hawaiian.

80 degrees? omg. Some of the deeper ponds around here are still frozen.

Yum. Much healthier than mine, which was a 5 layer burrito casserole thing from the cafe, with spanish rice. I leave off the sour cream and tomatoes and lettuce.

And it tastes pretty good too.

I'll be hungry again in about 3 hours and have another, I think.

I have an avocado sitting here ready to go, too... that's an additional 180 calories for 4 oz.

myfitnesspal dot com is a damn handy way to track your food. I was logging every meal religiously at one point. Gotta get back on that wagon.

Trilby 04-18-2011 07:49 AM

Seeing how Infinite Monkey is hungry...

What's for lunch?

Prolly something stupid-like a piece of bread. I'm that bored.

Sundae 04-18-2011 07:51 AM

Pizza and beer!

Sigh, not really.
Probably toast and an antibiotic.

Trilby 04-18-2011 07:54 AM

@ SG

DanaC 04-18-2011 07:59 AM

One slice of wholemeal bread with Lurpak sea-salted butter.

monster 04-18-2011 10:16 AM

hmm. maybe I should have brunch. I forgot to eat breakfast. (Well I stopped feeling hungry after I dicovered that laundry)

DanaC 04-18-2011 11:30 AM

That slice of bread gave me an appetite. So I made myself some sweet potato, mashed up with butter, cheese, spring onions and chopped parsley.

Was bloody lovely.

monster 04-18-2011 11:31 AM

How did you cook the SP -did you nuke it?

DanaC 04-18-2011 12:16 PM

Yup. Peeled and cut into small pieces and micro'd in a covered bowl, with a tablespoon or so of water.

Pico and ME 04-18-2011 12:41 PM

What kind of cheese?

Pico and ME 04-18-2011 12:42 PM

I wish I could find that flatbread here!:sniff:

Monteray Jack's cheddar.

monster 04-18-2011 01:58 PM

I just ate bacon eggs and hash browns. No wonder I'm the size of a house. Yummy, though....

bluecuracao 04-18-2011 04:12 PM

From the little European cafe downstairs: Salmon Caesar wrap, frites with curry sauce, and a ginger beer. The wrap was too skimpy on the salmon, but otherwise it was a perfect lunch.

Trilby 04-19-2011 09:30 AM

What's for Lunch?

I hope something good.

:D

jimhelm 04-19-2011 09:38 AM

I'll settle for something free

Pooka 04-19-2011 11:07 AM

salad ... and more salad. A friend is staying with us for a few months and both she and I purchased 2 very large tubs of spinach and baby greens... sooo salad...that is pretty much all that is in the fridge at this point. The kids are gonna hate me, but I'm gonna keep serving it every meal until we are down to one tub.

skysidhe 04-19-2011 01:52 PM

strange looking fettuccine made from vegetables but it tastes fine

I love pasta too much

kerosene 04-20-2011 02:49 PM

Starbucks sugar-free frap made with skim. I know, healthy, huh?

Trilby 04-20-2011 03:05 PM

sunch (supper/lunch)

chili with cornbread.

yyyeeeeeeHAW!

monster 04-21-2011 12:00 PM

I dunno, but it needs to present itself fast, I have to go out again in half an hour. What do you mean get it myself? sheesh. In that case there's a high probablility of eggs, bacon and hash browns again. Willpower, where are you?

jimhelm 04-21-2011 12:04 PM

YEAH... I'M FOOKIN UNGREH

Sundae 04-21-2011 12:41 PM

Have been having trouble eating big meals (for once!)
Don't know if it's the actual cough or the antibiotics.

So lunch was a couple of grapes and a Strawberry Squash-Em (soft plastic strawberry filled with fromage frais - you suck it out via the hole in the top)

The again, the 'rents croissants were going stale, so at their invitation I had two for breakfast, which probably made a difference.

monster 04-21-2011 12:47 PM

I should never be left to my own devices to fix lunch ...and now I'm late! :D

jimhelm 04-21-2011 01:28 PM

chicken salad hoagie with roasted reds from Wawa. spot hit.

DanaC 04-21-2011 02:12 PM

Right now i am having a late lunch (8pm) of chickpea, carrot and coriander soup.

In an hour and a half the chicken I threw in the oven should be roasted :)

I have potatoes, carrots and half a tin of peas. Nice and simple.

And Pilau will no doubt enjoy sharing in the feast.

Clodfobble 04-21-2011 02:36 PM

Earlier I had left over chicken stir fry. Right now I'm drinking chocolate almond milk straight out of the carton.

DanaC 04-21-2011 02:40 PM

Oooooh. Chocolate almond milk you say? That sounds bloody lovely, that does.

kerosene 04-21-2011 03:04 PM

parmesan cheese and some almonds

The brand is "Almond Breeze." I don't see it on Amazon UK, but people online seem to indicate it's at some Tescos, some Sainsbury's, some Waitroses, and a Holland and Barrett. It's shelf-stable, ought to be shippable...

wolf 04-21-2011 03:24 PM

I went out to lunch at Pudge's (pointed out mainly to make PamelaR jealous!) with my gentleman. I had a "Nanny's Special," which is a grilled corned beef special. Quite yummy. And we shared cheese fries. I don't think they do milkshakes so we spared all of you the embarassment of the one cup and two straws as is traditional amongst our peoples.

Incidentally, Pudge's moved. They are now in the building next door, with a much nicer and larger space.

Sundae 04-23-2011 06:41 AM

I doubt I'll have lunch today.
I had some sweet & sour chicken balls last night.
Had slowly moving stomach pains from 04.00 onwards. Moving downwards.
The bomb bay doors finally opened at 06.40. Not nice.

I can only assume it was the takeaway.
Too rich after a month of blandness.

Don't put the balls in your mouth, kids. They will make you sick.

Trilby 04-23-2011 06:54 AM

what about Pete Schweddy? Can I put his balls in my mouth? I love his Schweddy balls!

Which one was sour?

It was the left one wasn't it? I bet it was the left one.

Gravdigr 05-06-2011 03:43 PM

What's for lunch?

A small hamburger steak (cuz somebody ate the last hamburger bun), butter-sauteed onions, microwave mac'n'cheese, and a baked potato.

:yum:

Pete Zicato 05-06-2011 04:52 PM

Half a turkey sandwich with mayo, salt and pepper. (Haven't got my appetite back yet.)

jimhelm 05-10-2011 02:46 PM

free PB&J that John's wife must have made yesterday. cold as ice from being in his fridge, and all the jelly has saturated the one piece of bread, but it's fucken great cuz I didn't make it and it's free. yum.

Gravdigr 05-11-2011 03:34 PM

Anything cold. It's 88 degrees, and around 400% humidididity.

monster 05-11-2011 11:43 PM

I forgotted to eat lunch today

infinite monkey 05-12-2011 11:44 AM

My cow orker brought me in some Tabouli (saw it spelled as Tabouleh, too) today.

I'm not an adventurous eater, but I'd told her I love parsley and we thought the other ingredients would be do-able, even for finicky morris here.

I really like it. It's light, but it's like a party in my mouth. And it must be reasonably healthy!

Those lebanese sure know how to cook (stuff I actually like!)

Pico and ME 05-12-2011 11:47 AM

Oh yum that does sound good (after gooooogling). Damn now I need to go eat lunch too and I got nuthin.

Tulip 05-14-2011 10:28 PM

Had some leftover beans so I mixed it with chili. Had that for lunch and some for dinner. (There were lots. :p:) During the night meditation, I fell asleep and let out a :fart: :eek6:  I hope no one realized it was me. :p:

wolf 05-15-2011 01:18 PM

Trying to decide whether to make chicken salad for lunch or wait and reheat the chicken I cooked last night for an actual dinner-seeming dinner.

I'll probably wait. And then lose interest in meal prep, and end up with chicken salad for dinner.

We broke our fast at lunchtime. On the menu: fritata. It was delicious!

Trilby 05-16-2011 07:21 AM

I'm not going to eat today.

I had a shame-spiral of a weekend.

Clodfobble 05-16-2011 08:54 AM

Just pretend you're having a colonoscopy tomorrow!

plthijinx 05-17-2011 05:42 PM

I had a beef fajita burrito from a roach coach down the road from work today. there are a ton of them in that area of town and usually they are pretty good. i plan on sampling as many of them as i can within reach of my half hour lunch break. anyway on a scale of 1-10 the one i had today was an 8.5, needed better salsa.

zippyt 05-17-2011 06:47 PM

I had a Ham sando in my lunch cooler , but i was close to Toms BBq in memphis , I just Had to have me some rib tips , MMMM They wus GUUUUUD !!!

Aliantha 10-27-2011 09:28 PM

I just made San Choy Bau for the first time and I have to say, it's pretty spectacular. For those of you who don't know, it's a pretty simple spicy ground pork mince served in lettuce ie, rolled up in iceberg lettuce (although I'm serving mine in baby cos leaves.

Anyway, I just wanted to say it's yummy.

It's actually for a party I'm having tomorrow arvo, but I am doing most of the prep work today, so I thought I'd have some of the spoils for lunch. You know...as a taste test type of thing? ;)

wolf 10-28-2011 12:48 PM

Solarhippie was picking up her new Chevy Volt today. She was supposed to call me when the deal was done and drive down to show it off and have lunch at Panera. It's nearly 1400 and she hasn't called, so I'm guessing I should start checking what's in the fridge. I think I have some chicken salad.

Clodfobble 10-28-2011 02:57 PM

I had leftover tomato, leftover steak bits, and an avocado, all dribbled with worcestershire sauce. It was fantastic.

Spexxvet 10-28-2011 03:08 PM

A drug dealer pharmaceutical rep brought wraps, broc salad, chips, soda, and cookies. Good enough for me.

Clodfobble 10-28-2011 06:10 PM

I'm glad you got a nice lunch, Spexx... but I still wish that shit were illegal.

Pico and ME 10-28-2011 08:29 PM

Huh? To an eye doctors office? What drugs do you guys sell there? ...er, prescribe.
