That's a sad one. Sharon is still hanging on, I'm glad I moved my chips. Clodfobble has the Olsen Twin that's a big score coming.

Clodfobble 02-26-2006 08:56 PM

I have an Olsen twin?

Griff 02-27-2006 05:48 AM

Oops that was Spexvet!

Spexxvet 02-27-2006 08:30 AM

It's hard to root for a young girl to kick the bucket, but I force myself to do it every day, just so I can win this pool. :headshake

I nominate Gwennie! to be the official scorekeeper, since she apparently is taking notice of who the hell is buying the farm.

Gwennie only posted due to a strange attack of modesty on Rock Steady's part.

Thanks, Spexxvet. I love some of these people (eg Red Buttons), but one can last only so long. Looks like my research is paying off.

Red Buttons (February 5, 1919 – July 13, 2006) was the stage name of American comedian and actor Aaron Chwatt. He won an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Airman Joe Kelly in Sayonara (1957), a rare dramatic role.

Rock Steady ... 19 +13 = 32
All Others ... 0

I heard that Bob Hope will posthumously play in an upcoming celebrity golf tournament.

Jack Warden has passed. One of my favorite character actors of all time, the archetypical gruff coach/boss/neighbor type guy. Best known by most for his turn as the Rams' trainer in Heaven Can Wait with Warren Beatty and the delicious Julie Christie and for his turn in All the President's Men.

RIP, Jack. Thanks for all the great movie moments.

Farewell, President Ford.

6 points for me.

[edit] make that 7 points, he was 93

My list for 2007
I know it's early, but I promise not to count anyone who dies before midnight December 2006 (GMT)

Fidel Castro
Margaret Thatcher
Nicole Ritchie
Patrick Moore
Norman Wisdom
Mickey Rooney
Frank Carson
Zsa Zsa Gabor
Gaddafi
Islom Karimov

I figure I can't do much worse than last year (esp as Castro is a shoo-in)

Spexxvet 12-27-2006 08:52 AM

2007: Saddam Hussein
