yeah, "just for the fun of it" or to honor past ties. That's the kind of employment perk that is good for the soul, as well as good for the company.

Hurry hard!

The "big" sports get the sodas and sneakers and whatnot, but those curlers, they've got some stones, baby!

Shame on the U.S. loss to Germany today. Quite an exciting match.

Yes, I really did watch it.

I wish I had internet on my phone so I could get Olympic feeds.

When did they start marking the downhills with blue?

For Franz Klammer's downhill, they still had markings at the edge of the course between the gates. They just weren't painted.

The crosswise markings were absent. but have been used for years on undulating terrain and in poor weather.

I think they painted the full course because they had fog cancellations and possibly prepared the course to be run in the fog. That was a lot more paint than I've seen on any downhill run though Turin was almost as bad.

Lindsey Vonn- "Holy Mother of Fuck, I'm the Olympic Champion."

Anya Pearsons threw one hell of a yard sale but apparently she's okay.

Lindsey Vonn: I thought she was screaming in agony at the end of her run at first.

Hey! We're up in the medal count from yesterday.

LOL! I love how the snowboarding athletic "uniforms" are plaid [flannel] and baggy pants

lumberjim 02-17-2010 10:29 PM

I thought they were ghey.

Cloud 02-17-2010 10:40 PM

You think everything is ghey.

Snowboarding is not an Olympic Sport. It's just a bunch of slackers smoking up and fooling the whole lot of us.

True! During the half pipe qualifications last night, I saw one of the Americans pull his iPod out of his pocket, fiddle with it, and then start bopping his head around like crazy. I figured he was waiting for his turn to go in the back stage area, but then his coach tapped him on the shoulder, the camera angle changed, and he started his run down the pipe. He had been in the starting gate, playing with his iPod.

I know for a fact that I kick 15% more ass at Tony Hawk Skateboard video games when this song is on:

mental training is just as important as physical training in athletes, I hear. I'm sure this was part of pysching himself up for his run. Just because they do it differently, doesn't invalidate the method.
