We'd mix it in with the grain we fed. Possibly some of you birders could look at your local bread shops?

I know for a fact that the local Safeway donates all their day-old pastries/breads to local food banks. I'll ask around at other, smaller stores, though.

Good suggestion!

Whenever I visit a small convenience store nearby, I ask about their old veggies/fruits, and on occasion I've been lucky enough to arrive just after they've sorted through the displays and taken the yucky things out. Unfortunately, I'm not the only one who's discovered this wealth of chicken food - occasionally they tell me "Oh! Someone else was just here for the same thing, and took it all!" I'll have to ask the storekeeper if they toss out old bread, as well.

A friend of my Dad was a supermarket manager. Three times a week I'd fill the pickup with fruit, veggies and baked goods for the pigs. ;)

I wonder how you'd need to treat the local rabble to get your house chocolated?

My one sister had already been killed in an automobile accident, in 1953.

Update: Right around midnight on Friday, we got fireworks(ed). The kids yelled something right before setting it off, but I didn't catch it.

Found the tube by the street Sat morning. It still had a price tag on it - $9.75.

They're putting a lot of work into this and not conveying much.

See, this is where you're supposed to load the shotgun with rock salt. Sometimes the rural people have it right.

Someone has a crush on someone's daughter, is all.

Probably. Dar, just don't let his firework shoot through her bagel.
