And I spent all those hours in those strap things that aren't seats at all. Apart from the pilots, I never saw any officers abourd the transport plane I had to fly in. But that was more than 40 years ago.

They sure the hell fly in them now. Although a number of long haul trips in C-141's and the C-17's did have Command Group staff tables and seating for the HQ Gen officers and senior staff, big cushy lounge chairs that reclined. Me, I was in a jump seat.
