The Mets have run some remarkable talent through here in the last few years like Jose Reyes and David Wright. They seem to be good judges of pitching talent until the parent club trades them for washed up hitters. Our favorite guy here was Mike Jacobs who got traded over the winter. He was a consistantly clutch hitter. Right now they are hyping Carlos Gomez. We haven't had buzz like this since Reyes was here. Lastings Milledge moved up to triple A last year. He has wicked speed, I saw him bunt for a base hit, steal second and third on succesive pitches, and score on a passed ball. I don't know if he will hit at the major league level but as Whitey used to say speed does not slump.

Prospects!

David Wright really is going to be a big name by the end of this year. The Mets are on a tear, hope they can keep it up.

I saw my first ever baseball game at Shea last September when they beat the Cardinals 7-2.

So I think I'm a Mets fan now, for a Brit used to football and cricket, it was brilliant :)

The Warriors and the A's play 100 feet of each other. Friday was a dual event. There were 18,600 of us at the Warriors and 14,000 at the A's. It was too cold for baseball.

It took over a dozen games for a Pennsylvania team to win a game.

I heard the San Francisco team, in an attempt to win the World Series, is going to be renamed to the Orange Sox.

No team has ever been in first place by 5 games after having only played 12 games before. BEFORE THIS YEAR'S METS THAT IS!

I love baseball!

I was there for all 9 innings, with a cute girl. Thank God she came with, because the Mets played very flat, losing 7-1.

Oh well, I may go to the day game today.

As far back as i can remember, I've been a loyal Angels fan. From California to Anaheim, through thick and thin. A suprising world series!!

I remember the first time I watched them. It was right after the exhibition stadium shut down here in Toronto, and they just built the Skydome.
I kinda like the Blue Jays, but Toronto's first match to be played was against my Angels, so I bought a ticket with some friends and went, and what a match it was! 3-0 for Toronto, Ninth inning, bases loaded, 3 and 2 count, and the Angels get a grand slam home run! Lemme tell ya, there weren't too many people jumpin' up and down, hell, some of my friends had already left thinking it was over. Anyhow, looks like an exciting season for us... we certainly have the scoring ability, and we have various pitchers that can win games, who knows? we might win the pennant!

Hey can anyone give me a good reference for Jebediah? He's not an axe murderer or anything? If not,....

Jebediah, maybe we can go to an A's game sometime? Maybe in June when they start winning again?

OMG Rock Steady! Don't you know I'm not to be trusted?

Sounds like a good idea but I'm way in the North Bay and vehicleless :( My friends are planning to go to a game sometime, maybe we can meet up then?

That's what they get for consistantly building their old team around one old player.

SteveBsjb 04-28-2006 11:48 AM

Mets take two from the Braves this weekend. Starting tonight with Pedro over Smoltz!

WabUfvot5 04-28-2006 09:04 PM

While the Braves haven't impressed me thus far (this year) the Mets certainly have.

elSicomoro 04-28-2006 09:23 PM

Albert Pujols is the greatest baseball player there is right now. The sooner you all accept that, the better off everyone is. :)
