Crude and mean with occasional interruptions of laughter. No more. I take it all back. "After Life" was written and directed by Gervais and he appears in almost every frame. His range is complete, I cried. There were tears of sadness and breathtaking gales of laughter, including tears. Twil had to stop the program on multiple occasions and wait for me to compose myself, rewinding to the point where I'd lost it so I could hear the next bit....

Bring tissues. Drink carefully, it might get spat out or choked on. Most of all, enjoy.

you know season 2 just got released, right?

I want to hate him so badly (as I've mentioned elsewhere), but with material like this you can't. Today I saw my friend for the first time since lockdown and we actually spent some of the time discussing how good he is. She is married to the guy who did the artwork Gervais mocked in one of his stand-ups despite being refused permission to use it, but we still allotted him time

Original British, or new American version? I've stayed away from the American one because I know it could never live up to my expectations, but getting the Brit episodes is a pain in the ass...

monster 05-25-2020 10:27 PM

British. it's on Youtube. Even the current ones.

Clodfobble 05-25-2020 10:31 PM

No wait what seriously?? We looked on YouTube way back when, then gave up and have been getting them on DailyMotion, which has a horrible interface. I know what I'm re-binging tomorrow...

monster 05-25-2020 10:43 PM

ok I lied about the current -the recent one I saw has been removed :D, but the last season and most previous are still on there :) I kind of just watch in any order, though, any series, doesn't bother me

Just watched "The Barkley Marathons: The Race That Eats Its Young" on Amazon. A documentary about an extreme 100 mile trail race in Kentucky. It was very good. Here's the Wikipedia page about the race. Barking mad.

I loved that. Freaking brutal.

My son pulls that one up to watch about twice a year.

Is there ever a different result?

Elspode 07-03-2020 12:19 AM

I'm kinda jazzed about seeing this tomorrow night. Anyone else?

LOL. No.

Except maybe the number of lines he is able to remember accurately enough to recite.

Between Hamilton and Mandalorian we're going to send Satan's Mouse money for a month. I'm looking forward to it.

glatt 07-03-2020 09:29 AM

We just renewed Disney+ for Hamilton, and now we hear that neighbors are going to be projecting it on the side of their garage this evening for a socially distancing neighborhood movie experience. So that will be fun, be we could have saved $7.
