elSicomoro 04-17-2004 05:07 PM

Slang's voice should be used on the pronunciation file for that word.

Elspode 04-17-2004 05:34 PM

It does say that you can record your own pronunciation...

elSicomoro 04-17-2004 09:11 PM

So it does...

Pluck your twangers. This is safe for work, but people might look at you funny for watching it.

Slartibartfast 04-17-2004 10:15 PM

While totally hysterical, this clip was not actually aired in a children's show. It was filmed for in-house humor purposed. I just can't find the tv website that explains the background story.

JeepNGeorge 04-17-2004 10:27 PM

No not actually aired. But damn funny. Saturday Night Live writers should take notes.

A bunch of volunteer employees and retirees, at Boeing, Wichita, are restoring "Doc" , a B-29 bomber. It'll not only look perfect, it will FLY.:D

She spotted this on her way home on Monday.

She had to call me to find out what "monkey butt" was. I looked it up for her and found the homepage before the lightbulb went on and I remembered what it is.

You have to go look it up yourself. HA!

lumberjim 04-27-2004 12:50 PM

JINX, that's a riot......do you remember the "I'll kick your ass" auction? now THAT was funny.

jinx 04-27-2004 12:53 PM

this one?

Brigliadore 04-27-2004 03:34 PM

In keeping with the strange Ebay auctions theme we seem to have going today, I found this beauty while visiting another site earlier today.
I don't know that I would want to buy this after that guy had been in it, but to each their own.

The site I found the above link at is this site. A fun site that collects strange auctions and posts the URL for them.

BrianR 04-27-2004 04:58 PM

OW! My eyes! I think I'm blind!

Thanks a lot, next time warn us before linking to something like that!

EWWWWWWW

SteveDallas 04-27-2004 06:53 PM

Hey. Psst. You, the one running Windows. I bet you think that MacOS sucks.

Hey, over there. You with the Macintosh. I don't even have to ask, I know you think Windows sucks?

Guess what? You're both right.

BrianR 04-27-2004 09:04 PM

and some of us have seen the Light and switched to Linux.

I even got it mostly stable....notice how I haven't been asking for help much anymore?

Did you say this was E*bay* or E*gay*? Because I can't think of a straight man who would wear something like that...

Sorry, Linux is on the suckage list too!

BrianR 04-28-2004 10:11 AM

Must have been written by an elitist snob for some obscure OS then. Or an OS from a mainframe or workstation that hasn't made it down to desktop units yet.

My biggest complaint about Linux so far is the difficulty in installing software. I miss having a wizard to it for me at the click of a button. Why, oh why can't programmers write a simple installer program for their software?

My only other complaint is the different versions of Linux...I use a version (Mandrake 9.0) that isn't usually listed in the catalog, so I have to pray the Red Hat 8.0 works...usually it does, but not always! Standardize, people!

One Linux to rule them all, one Linux to find them, one Linux to bring them all and in the Darkness bind them.

hehehe I couldn't resist after seeing this.

Or he realizes that all OSs are awful.

thought This was cool. but maybe that's just the pilot in me:)

Elspode 04-29-2004 01:05 AM

No, actually, that *is* cool, except that they want you to listen while naked, apparently (since they ask us to *bare* with them).

elSicomoro 04-29-2004 07:16 AM

How to keep some of you occupied for hours :)

SteveDallas 04-29-2004 02:00 PM

Hey that's a good one... he was very diligent to write as many chapters of it as he did.

jinx 04-29-2004 02:04 PM

Lists haunted houses worldwide.

perth 05-03-2004 05:46 PM

Awww, I was hoping for real haunted houses. I'm not a "believer" but I do enjoy a good scare, and more's the better when it's a "true" haunted house.

I tried "Daria" and it guessed it correctly. (Took it a while.)

lumberjim 05-05-2004 02:39 PM

Beestie 05-05-2004 03:00 PM

Pete 05-05-2004 03:59 PM

That was pretty lame

This one's more impressive

SteveDallas 05-05-2004 04:00 PM

No respect, I tell ya, no respect.

glatt 05-05-2004 04:43 PM

Um, Steve, no offense man, but that was pretty bad.

I answered stupid question after stupid question. It guessed the wrong show, and then I had to tell it a question it could use in the future to come up with MY show, which was Miami Vice.

Lady Sidhe 05-05-2004 04:46 PM

perfect link for the folks here

given enough time, would infinite monkeys at infinite typewriters complete shakespear's works?

here's a simulator

here's the record:

"[Enter GOWER.] ?2IDzPN9sq6V ;e'?nGI3&?3 La""0 ..." matched "[Enter GOWER.] [Before the palace of Antioch.] To sing a song that old was sung, From ashes ancient Gower is come; Assuming man's infirmities, To glad your ear, and please your eyes."

'Inherit the Wind' got me a database error after about 15 minutes of questions. I assume that means I won?

wolf 05-06-2004 01:32 AM

Too much time on their hands. Chapter Number 348. Or should that be Number 2?

Happy Monkey 05-06-2004 08:28 AM

I go back to that page every once in a while, to be impressed all over again.
