Wow - Bertha said that? I cant believe he was offended by something like that.

I must of missed something and I was probably one of the worst offenders.....sorry Bertha...if you read this :)

So...because some people (probably including myself) blasphemed he decided to bugger off, despite the fact that he was getting along with people and seemingly enjoying our companionship? That sucks.

Was it in a private message?

It is a shame. With my dark sense of humor I'm sure I offend people who have those sensibilities, but, it's the internet, no? Certainly his choice to go, but it's too bad because he was a fun and nice guy.

Yeah, he's a pussy. A pussy with little faith in his lord and savior.;)

This brings up the obvious question: Where do you draw the line at self-censorship? I occasionally post things that I know might offend someone, but I try to keep that to a minimum. I would never intentionally hurt any of the people here, which means that I'm censoring myself.

No, it just means that you have manners.

Thank you Brianna.

That's my way of avoiding a good pummeling.

It's all in how you position it:

I really think the internet makes it worse. When there isn't a face to go along with the comment, we tend to fill in the blanks. If someone is spouting republican views, I can't help but picture Rush Limbaugh.

As far as blasphemy, or making fun of some one's religion, or lack of religion, that's just such a foreign concept to me I can't imagine what would prompt some one to do that. To say it's personal, would be the understatement of the year. It's their belief, the core of who they are.

And me none.

I tend to type how I speak and the filter between my brain and mouth is seriously faulty.

I'm a foot in mouth person and I expect people to like me or lump me....just the way I am.
