Them, who? Usually, a glance in the mirror will remind me of which one of Ms. Clairol's delightful spectrum of shades I chose this week.! :D Actually, I do remember that I have been trying for a lighter ash sort of shade. Unfortunately, my hair doesn't want to co-operate, so I've had lots of fun being every hair color except the one I want.

Since you brought it up, I think I did mention once that I liked your hair red the best..........this is not saying that redheads are "better" this just means I like it the best on you........Remember my red hair incident? Someone wrote a song called "pink." :D

Oh, my! I had completely forgotten that until just now! Didn't you go out at 2:00 or 3:00am in a desperate attempt to become un-pink? How many times DID you re-do your hair that night? :D

flippant 10-23-2004 07:59 PM

Yeah, you would have been a hit in Florida! I should have set you out as a lawn decoration!

We would have had better luck with you as a garden gnome. (as comatose as you were) Not only that, I could of convinced you of this great idea.

Oh my gawd! :D (*rolls around on floor laughing*). The thing is you're right! I can see myself now, all wrapped up in blankets patiently sitting out amongst the dead plants in the winter looking for little black spots up in the sky. The fresh air probably would have done wonders for me, and I'd have finally caught on to the joke and come back inside to beat you up!

Well, I meant "not anymore" after seeing ol' Carrot-top up there. He's such a weird guy. He looks like the corporate icon for Wendy's restaurants.

Go auburn. It'll do ya good.

SteveDallas 10-29-2004 10:13 AM

That's insulting to Wendy's.

It's fun to mock Carrotop, but the guy has milked it to become rich and famous while I have a boring office job.

Brown Thrasher 11-26-2004 01:26 PM

I have found reheaded women to either be beautiful or homely. I know there must be some that fit somewhere in between. However, this has been my findings. You know the older I get the better looking all women look to me.........

What I say is that as I get older there is more scenery to look at. When in my teens I'd only look at guys a few years older than me and none younger. Now I'll drool at a well-presented guy be he 16 or 66!

Hmmm, I like the drooling part!! I guess 46 would fit well in those standards. At least the 6 is well presented..... :)

Radar 11-26-2004 04:57 PM

The one thing I've noticed about NATURAL redheads is they are either REALLY goodlooking, or REALLY ugly. There doesn't seem to be an average looking redhead.

Sun_Sparkz 12-05-2004 11:57 PM

While in high school i had strawberry blonde hair, and i am quite fair. LOVED it! But i could never go a gingery colour, i dont think that is very attractive. now i have blonde/ light brownm, Its much better for me professionally. But if its done right, and its not too contrsting with skin tone, red hair is definately a knock out!!

jaclyn8700 04-11-2006 08:19 PM

i am a redheaded woman and the one thing that constantly offfends me is when people ask if my you-know-what is red.

if i wanted them to know i would have showed them!@

Rock Steady 04-11-2006 08:40 PM

Hey jacklyn, thanks for bumping this old thread; I missed it the first time around.

That seems to be a popular question. I photoshopped a wreath on my head for a silly holiday picture for this forum (in my female role). Someone asked me if my drapes matched the carpet. But, I welcome that kind of fun on a forum. In person, it must be irritating after a while.

The only redhead ex-gf of mine was a disaster. During sex, she would always hook her feet around my ankles to control the rhythm. That was highly annoying. She was redhead-from-birth.

I can't say any particular haircolor is best. Sexy is mostly self confidence.

Cant quite get a mental picture of how this was done, but I intend to try it and see if it is indeed annoying.

You should take it as a compliment. Although it's a rather crude way, they're asking, as I'm sure you know, if you color your hair.
Well, I'm assuming that you don't color your hair. But either way, it seems to me, if they're asking, it means your hair at least looks natural. There is way to many redheads out there that don't have to be asked.

Personally, I would never ask if the carpet matches the drapes..... I'd ask if the nipples are pink? :haha:

rkzenrage 04-20-2006 11:18 PM

My wife is a redhead and I'm way happy about it!

NoBoxes 04-21-2006 01:54 AM

In the past, insurance companies had found that red cars were involved in more accidents that any other color cars. It is believed that was due to the drivers of red cars wanting to go faster (with correspondingly less caution). Colors have been demonstrated to have psychological effects. Perhaps men expect that a physical relationship with redheaded women will progress faster than with other women. It could happen!

twentycentshift 04-21-2006 10:02 AM

i'm with rkzenrage- my wife's a redhead, and i am VERY glad about it. redheads are WONDERFUL !!!!!

Mine is a redhead and a Scorpio... I had not thought it all the way through... but am still very happy about it!:D :D

KinkyVixen 04-28-2006 11:29 AM

Are redheads better in general, or better at certain things? I don't think having a certain haircolor makes you better at anything...I've had many different hair colors. Being a blonde doesn't mean I have more fun...being a brunette still makes me the same person, only with a different color of hair..and hey, i'm still great in bed, if that's where this topic is at.

rkzenrage 04-28-2006 12:07 PM

I don't think hair-color has anything specific to do with anything, but you have to look at the genetic traits of those women who commonly had red hair, where they came from and what traits were prized, & therefore passed on as dominant.
I, for one, likes me on hot tempered, tough, Viking/Celtic bitch who can take it and give it back in kind while laughing about it the whole time... later she screws you... not the other way around.
But, that is just me... don't listen to me... I'm a freak.

Celtic Worrior Women... can't read... must. Not. Get. Hot.

its really not whether anyone's haircolor makes them better at certain things- its the visual, as well as what rkzenrage stated above.

nothing like a red bush, and light skin, and sometimes the freckles that go with redheads. very huge turn-on.

however, kinky, its definitely not the only turn-on. so many women have wonderful characteristics, physical and otherwise. i cannot picture what you look like or what color hair you may have, but i can imagine you are a very sexy and wonderful woman (and i don't say that as a come-on. i am absolutley happily married.)

rkzenrage 04-28-2006 08:22 PM

I can't believe this thread is still going. Good for it.

I think bottle red-heads DO count. Red is red, baby.

I was red when I started this thread--now, i'm more of an auburn with blonde bangs. I miss the red, though.

I gotcha, and I getcha. No worries. I do have a picture on my profile, however it doesn't actually show my hair. But, for the record, I'm a brunette. And at the moment I am sporting a bronzed body...dark hair, dark skin, blueish green (light) eyes...apparently that's a huge turn on to some. Maybe they just aren't part of the cellar community?
To each his own, you know...
and as far as wonderful...maybe? and maybe not? I have my moments. : )

Pangloss62 05-04-2006 03:41 PM

It's more than hair

Sorry, Brianna, but being a Red Head is so much more than the color of the hair, and as a male Red Head, I can tell you there is a double standard when it comes to people's reactions. As a child, I was constantly teased for my red hair, and even today I don't think women prefer Red Headed men. That said, being a Red Head is related to my Irish roots (sorry for the pun). The other aspect of being a REAL Red Head is having fair skin (white) that burns rather than tans. Furthermore, a REAL Red Head stands out, especially if she's a woman, with freckles, fair skin, and blue eyes (most of the time). I can't stand women who dye their hair; it says something about their character. Be real. Don't support the cosmetics industry. Be good to your natural hair, which I'm sure is beautiful because it's yours.

Trilby 05-04-2006 05:54 PM

My son is a red head with freckles and blue eyes and he is quite the ladies man.

Why did I bother to answer that?

KinkyVixen 05-05-2006 01:56 PM

I dunno. Why did you? Did you think you were just wasting your breath? I don't know very many red-heads...I just know about the stigma that follows. Teach me!

Razzmatazz13 11-27-2007 11:22 PM

Welcome amelia!

As seen in the RFN thread a while back, I've experimented with red before, it's fun...my natural hair is brownish redish blondish, but sometimes looks black in low light. It's got alot of red throughout it naturally, and both times that I've dyed it red were more about changes in my life which I marked by changing my appearance...sort of like a temporary tatoo I guess. :)

(I soooo want to do it pink, or at least red with pink hilites but I'm a chicken)

Clodfobble 11-27-2007 11:32 PM

I did a nice dark fuschia for a short time in college, Razz. From the pictures you've posted, I think it would work well with your complexion. Sticking with the darker pinks is the key though. But would your job object?

Razzmatazz13 11-28-2007 12:06 AM

That's the part I worry about actually, I know we've got tons of people with tattoos, face piercings are supposed to be taken out during work hours, but I'm not sure of the policy on hair color...hmm...

You can rest assured that the moment I'm back in college, I'll be doing some kind of pink for certain.

Aliantha 11-28-2007 01:13 AM

Don't you work in a hardware store? Surely they're not that strict. Do you think they'd object to all the colours I have in my hair if I worked there? I have pink. ;)

Razzmatazz13 11-28-2007 02:16 AM

Another thing to consider is customer reaction...whether or not I'm willing to hear the same comment about it 50 times a day...not because I'll be upset if they don't like it...but because it gets hard to give that fake customer service grin and laugh at whatever I'm going to hear 50 people a day say about it.

FYI old men hate black or blue nailpolish...but they loooove the glitter

SteveDallas 11-28-2007 08:53 AM

I must not be old enough.. I don't want to see glitter anywhere except the school art projects of < 8yo kids. (I could do without the black nail polish... blue might be OK depending on the shade etc.)

(P.S. Get the hell off of my yard.)

kerosene 11-28-2007 09:53 AM

Razz, I think you should do some of it dark pink. It would look great on you! I can relate to the changing haircolor coinciding with a new phase of something. I do the same thing. I dyed mine all different colors until about 5 years ago, when I started dying it black all the time. I have finally grown most of the black out and cut it short. Trying to decide if I should dye it aqua/greenish blue? I am thinking it might freak out some of the yuppy parents around here, which would be an added bonus. Perhaps we could have a hair dye thread?

jester 11-28-2007 10:22 AM

Mmmm, didn't know this one existed. Very nice. I didn't like my hair color for a very long time, because it was so different than most other people I went to school with. But, oh well, it's great now. I have never colored it - so would be scared it would turn some God awful color.

Sundae 11-28-2007 12:56 PM

Razz - get you some bright pink highlights girl, would look amazing. And out some glitter as low down as your uniform goes breast wise. The old men won't worry bout your hair.

And Case - go for it! If I had the complexion I'd totally go for far out colour.

Razzmatazz13 11-28-2007 01:53 PM

No, SD, you're not old enough...the sort of old man I'm talking about is the kind who can barely walk or talk or see and just sort of grunts out his words...(and I meant glittery nail polish :D sorry for the confusion...)

although they do like when I wear glittery tops...

Now you've all got me wanting to dye it pink again :P so we'll see how it goes.

So WTF are they doing buying hardware?

ZenGum 11-28-2007 10:50 PM

They're not buying hardware, they're just trying to perve on Razz in her glittery top. The glitter helps their failing eyes make out the shape, you see.
