Most men like their nuts, at least.

elSicomoro 05-21-2004 09:27 AM

You know, I could do without 'em. I don't really need them, since I'm not having kids, and I can get testosterone shots to make up for the lack of it. Plus, if you get kicked hard enough in that area, you can die. Fuck that.

Happy Monkey 05-21-2004 09:29 AM

I hate shots. :worried:

elSicomoro 05-21-2004 09:35 AM

I don't like shots either, but if it were a weekly one, I could handle that.

stop with the "you don;t know when to quit" shit already. If I have something to say to you, you'll listen, bitch :). Who the hell are you to say when I should quit. You don't want to talk about this anymore because it makes you look like a spiteful prick. Yesterday I was generally surprised and mildly annoyed by you and dagney. Today, after sleeping on it. I am not mad at dagney at all, but I am kind of fucked off at you still.

I'm a pretty goofy, non serious person for the most part. I enjoy joking around more than arguing politics. This does not mean that I can't be serious, though. It does not mean that I can't be offended. Your stepping into this matter and starting that poll, and saying the things you did about, and to me directly open a whole can of worms that I don't think you can handle. You want to be enemies with me? fine. You can't accept the truce, fine. you want me to shut about this? nope. Plan to be reminded of it on a regular basis. You don't like me? Good. Fuck you , sycamore. Fuuuuuuuuuck yooooouuu.

ok, now I'm done.....go ahead and take the last word, Terry. You're dead to me. well, not dead......but in a coma at least.

SORRY EVERYONE!

If I want to call a spade a spade, I will certainly do so.

Quote:

I don't need any permission or authority to tell you when you should quit. If you don't want to listen to me, then don't. If you don't like what I'm saying, oh well. I ain't losing sleep over it.

No, I'm just tired of hearing your diarrhea mouth. But as I said before, you're tolerable. If I look like a spiteful prick to some, then I do. But I'm sure some will see me as the person who was willing to stand up to you and call you out.

When will you finally understand that I don't give a fuck what you or anyone else thinks of me?

First of all, you ain't nothing I haven't dealt with before. Get over yourself. Secondly, you opened the can of worms. Don't blame me for your fuck-up. Jesus, accept some responsibility for once!

Call him out? Call him out?? Is that what you're doing here, seriously? Damn, I've been trying unsuccessfully for years to get Jim into a fight, just so I could watch.... and here you go volunteering.
So when are you coming over man? I'll make lunch.

she's not kidding. she pushed a drunk guy down the steps in the 700 level of the vet once. He kept stepping on her feet, and falling into her.

It was the halloween game vs. dallas, where emmitt ran 250+ yds in the rain. awesome. We had the very last seats in the house, and the only shelter from the rain above the boxes.

700 level? Isn't that where the drunkards hung out at the Vet? Argh, don't get me started on drunk Philly fans...

lumberjim 05-22-2004 01:38 PM

thm, you' are losing your touch. used to be, when trouble reared its ugly head, if danger was near, if someone was tied to the track, you were there. I remember those days. ahhhhh...... it seems so long ago now. well....better late than never.

to answer your question, we've been getting along famously. Thursday was a little spotty, and part of Friday, but for the most part, I'd have to say that the love is boundless.

Looks like the Cellar has expanded so much in the past 6 months that being a super hero asshat would now be a full time job.

Even THM has non-cellar things to do.

We were lucky* enough to have LJ wander here himself without searching the world over.

I dont get paid, this service** is totally free. And THM is indeed an amature but that doesnt mean you should try this at home.

yeah, it's true, farfromhome, it's no act. I am tired of it already though. This is much more fun when we seem to get along, but have a thinly veiled animosity toward one another, syc. I've taken a couple shots at you since this bullshit, and where they would have been pretty funny before, now they just seem bitter and mean.

well, i guess i'll just have to work through it. I'm for damnsure not going to avoid you. Nor am I about to be overly polite to you and treat you like an adult. I think it's important that you do the same, too. I'm not going to turn any little barbs into flame fests. I think people like a touch of that, but get sick of it after not very long. So, if you insist on "disliking" me officially, that's cool. But, at least in practice, let's not hold back OR go overboard.

The problem here, Jim, is that I don't trust you. You started a round of name-calling, pulled a couple of Dave-like stunts and made a veiled threat. Not to mention, some of your past behavior and what you said to Dagney the other day are very concerning. At least you owned up to your comments to Dagney.

Your future actions and time will tell whether I decide to deal with you in a more normal manner again. We shall see...

wow. your reality is pretty subjective.

I started a round of name calling? As I remember it, I was minding my own business, razzing ZippyfrigginT,and Dagney came flying at me out of nowhere, for imagined reasons. Then she starts saying i don't have the knuts to ask her in private why she did it? fuckin crazy if you ask me. Of course I was taken aback. Then, out of nowhere YOU start the poll. As far as I knew, we were cool. And YOU don't trust ME? You goddamn backstabbing bitch. And what veiled threat did you imagine? I think you were the one "calling ME out"

My past behavior? In the past I've done things to foster more activity on this board. More involvement. I've laid my life open and shared it with everyone here. I'd say if anyone can be trusted, it's me. You all know where to find me. You can't even be man enough to respect two offers of truce. You bitter little weenie.

For the record, I want it know by the folks who have not had the extreme dissappointment of meeting you in person that, contrary to your online persona, you are a short, fat little nerd who won't look a person in the eye when you talk to them. I think that says a lot about a person. You have beadie eyes, too. you did this same shit with Dave. I tried then to get you to let him up. I had him ready to accept an offer of truce. you just pulled the big momma's boy routine, and iced him.

You are the biggest pussy I know. I can't believe I'm this pissed off over a scumbag like you. You can forget the offer of truce. my enemy.

i wish you wouldn't. I'm pretty sure I will look back on that last post one day, and see it as being over the top. like tomorrow, maybe. Still looks just about right to me now. Probably could have done with less name calling, and the bit about him being a twerp in real life.

Maybe I do need a time out. Or maybe I'lll just close every post with "Screw you, sycamore" for a week or two until I feel better. There's no good reason for me to get angry at someone for some shit they said on a computer screen. Goddamn.

Damn,I'm upset.
I've only been here a short time. I don't even remember who Jim was arguing with,Going back a few months ago....But I was amazed. As someone who likes to think that they can put some coherent thoughts together,I saw Jim bounce back off the canvas swinging.Deal the knockout blow. And I said Damn...!And I laughed my ass off in a way that I haven't in quite a while. And vowed not to get into a war of words with LJ.
I'm a newbie.I thought you guys were tight.Phillie guys.
My take is this:I suspect Jim feels betrayed. And I don't blame him. When I saw the Poll I laughed.I thought Syc was advancing the humor to a higher level. Now I'm kind of bummed. This sucks.Sycamore I respect your intelligence. But I think you blindsided Jim.Especially when he was already trying to make things right with Dagney. And that is my unrequested opinon.Peace, please brothers.Theres too much hate in this world.

OnyxCougar 05-24-2004 11:54 AM

I see that, Jimbo. And I'm not going to get into the middle of it. Discretion being the better part of valor, and all that.

elSicomoro 05-24-2004 12:42 PM

Isn’t perception a strange thing? One person sees something one way, while another person sees it in a totally different light.

As el sicómoro sees it, this is much ado about nothing. I completely take blame for not being more upfront with Jim, but this is just a message board. It’s not like we were really good friends or anything. Seriously.

It seems to me that Jim can’t handle honesty. This whole poll was a joke, done on a dare that he made. I haven’t tried to press any buttons with him at all (me offering Radar Kool-Aid…THAT’S pushing buttons), and I’ve been pretty straightforward with him since this shit started. But there he is, damned near calling me every name in the book, as well as insulting my physical appearance. It’s hard to tell with the written word, but some of his recent posts to me sound like he’s foaming at the mouth.

Interesting parallel: A while back, Blue58 had some sort of issue with me—IIRC, he was not fond of my sense of humor. We made peace about a month ago, and I thought everything was cool. Then I read one of his posts the other day where he says I’m kind of a dick…now here, he’s says I seem to get off on arguing and being a dick. I was surprised, but...*shrugs* No biggie.

I’ve been on this board for over 3 years now, and in that time, there have only been a handful of people that I can say I really didn’t like at one time or another: Dave, Radar, Undertoad and Jim. Just because I don’t like someone doesn’t mean I can’t get along with them though—being civil rocks. But based on Jim’s tirade last night, it’s not really worth it for me to deal with him right now. I could certainly understand him being a bit miffed, but what he did last night was completely uncalled for.

Some of you might recall a particularly ugly incident that occurred about 3 months ago. I think a lot of that was ego and overreaction, but it taught me something very very important—don’t sweat online forums too hard. Bruce had said it before as well as vsp. It took a while, but it finally sunk in...I’m hardheaded like that. :)

I enjoy coming to Cellar and shooting the breeze and meeting new people. If I make some new friends, that’s great. There are several people on here that I consider friends. If I had a problem with one of those folks, I’d be sure to actually talk it out with them off the board. But if I don’t make any new friends, it’s cool. You can't make friends with everyone.

My $0.05...

jaguar 05-24-2004 01:24 PM

This place only works when everyone is civil, when they`re not, it end up like a bunch of teenaged girls having a bitchfight in a matter of seconds. THe problem with the net (as the esteemed penny arcade pointed out recently) that normal people suddenly feel like expressing their inner asshole, just pretend it`s in person and we`ll all get along better.

If you`re wondering, I actually do do that, I`m just an abrasive person.

lumberjim 05-24-2004 01:39 PM

i'm going to reply to that, but not until i've thought it through a few more times. i regret saying what I said about sycamore's real live persona, and I want to be more careful this time.

I've got my son for the weekend, and I'm thinking about taking him to the Zoo. We have a really neat one down here in the Springs. They have a giraffe habitat where you can stand on this balcony and actually feed em. I had never really thought much of giraffes until one was staring me in the face trying to get ahold a cracker. They really are very pretty animals.

wolf 05-25-2004 10:05 AM

The Cherokee Nation PowWow is being held this weekend at Temple University Ambler Campus. I'm going!!

I'm close enough (three miles) that I usually go for two out of the three days, once for the trading (usually involving green pieces of paper with pretty pictures, but I have traded my beadwork on occasion), once so I can really focus on watching the dancers.

Anybody in southeastern PA who wants to go to one of the best powwows in the area (only one I've heard get better reviews is Rancocas, and theirs is a lot more commercial), it's 5/29-31/04, take Route 309 to the Ambler Exit. They usually have fantastic signs from there. If not, it's not hard to find ... roll down the window and listen for drumming.
