11:30...2 or 3 am....same thing in TV programming. Even though the show was making tons of money, I couldnt get a better spot.

I quit doing the show because of that, the sponsors were there!

Blah blah blah...here, Rush...*syc holds out his hand*...how about a nice dose of Oxycontin?

What time did Johnny Carson come on Syc?

wolf 10-11-2003 10:00 PM

half-eleventy, probably.

He was in a different time zone.

And in Missouri, you have to subtract 15 minutes from the time cuz they're just that much slower than the rest of the country.

elSicomoro 10-11-2003 10:27 PM

Bruce, St. Louis is on Central Time. The Tonight Show comes on at 10:35p.

For the longest time, the NBC affiliate in St. Louis would not show Late Night right after The Tonight Show. There were various shows on at 11:30/11:35 over the years--one of them was Rush's show. There was also Inside Edition, Geraldo's Now It Can Be Told, and Jerry Springer...and those are the ones I can remember. Apparently though, Late Night is now on at 11:35. (It fucking figures!)

Give us some fucking credit Wolf! My parents got indoor plumbing last week!

Interesting, were the other network shows moved up an hour also? like the prime time shows we saw at 8 moved to 7? I know the west coast delayed but I wonder what the Mountain time people got?

Exactly. Prime time is 7-10p in the Central Time Zone (except for most of Indiana...it gets kinda screwy.)

When it comes to the free networks, mountain time zone generally gets "central" times. Pacific time zone generally gets "eastern" times. It basically breaks down like this:

Eastern: ER is on at 10pm Eastern Time.
Central: ER is on at 9pm Central Time (10p Eastern).
Mountain: ER is on at 9pm Mountain Time (11p Eastern).
Pacific: ER is on at 10pm Pacific Time (1a Eastern).

Alaska and Hawaii are also kinda screwy.

I grew up in Illionois and had a hard time adjusting to the whole "good tv on between 8 and 11" thing here.

Was equally strange to go back on a visit and the late news started at 10p.

elSicomoro 10-12-2003 04:37 PM

It took me a good year to get used to the changes. Hmmm...I might have to talk about this in the Regional Subtleties thread.

greenian 11-03-2003 10:56 AM

why is Chong in jail for selling bongs online while Rush gets to chill in his 90 day rehab center on his own recognizance?

dave 11-03-2003 11:00 AM

Because distribution of "illegal" paraphernalia is considered "more illegal" than consumption of illegal substances.

xoxoxoBruce 11-03-2003 03:04 PM

Rush was illegally obtaining and using legal drugs.

dave 11-03-2003 03:10 PM

'sonly legal if you've got a prescription. Hence "illegal".

But I was more talking about illicit substances in general; distribution is always more "serious" than consumption.

1) I'm not in a 90 day rehab. It's a 30 day.

2) I played a significant part in getting the reps elected and Asscroft his job.

3) I have assets in excess of 100 million bucks

4) I have video tapes of Asscroft mastrubating to gay porn (hey dont look at me, *he* made them).

greenian 11-04-2003 10:07 AM

ah, that explains it

If a 15 year old takes Extacy it's illegal and so is the drug.
If a 15 year old drinks alcohol it's illegal but the drug is not.
The law is harsher in the first case....double jeopardy. If you add distribution, usually "conspiracy to distribute", it's strike three. Yer out!
