Eh. WM takes two cans a week from me for $20 a month. Seems like a reasonable deal to me.

I will say, however, that they ROB you on recyclables. They wanted $8 a month to take my plastic/glass, and then they recycle it and make more money off of it. I cancelled that shit after the first month.

Margins are thin on recycling. They wouldn't be making much from it, unless you're in a state with bottle deposits.

And even then, they'd have to pay someone to pull out the stuff that can't be redeemed.

As it is, I take my recyclebles to a local place and get way more than $8 a month for them. :) Saving the planet and NOT paying anyone else to take whatever little profit they might make. I feel good about my choice! :thumb:

Get a trash compactor put your bottles and glass in there with the slimy stuff. No one is going to open that bundle of joy. You could always save $20 if you gift wrapped the compacted trash and leave it on your front step.lol.

That will work if it doesn't rain and the ground gets soggy so that the bike(s) fall on you. Still I have tied a tent rope to my bike. Just had to make sure it was untied when leaving.

What kind of floorboards do you have? Ha ha.

The fellow in that picture had an accident at work and both his shoulders were crushed. He sold his bike and an Alumina trailer went with the bike.[emoji22]

glatt 09-08-2018 09:10 AM

There are accidents and then there are unplanned tragic events that happen when you aren't placing safety first.

I don't know this guy. I don't know anything about his work accident, but look at that picture. Does he put safety first?

I do the same when riding. Maybe shoot the bird only a couple times.lol. It is like riding your bicycle. Once under speed the bike will stand up by itself. The neck bearings are the key. If loose you will definitely hold the bars. Notice the rider is looking straight ahead and not at the person taking the pic.

I was to leave Thursday for a weekend of reverie with bikers from another forum. It seems hurricane Florence is going to change my plans. They have loosened the rules this year to include those cushy modern bikes built from 1917 way up to 1929. But they did limit the field to 123 riders/bikes unleashed on American roads. :haha:

glatt 09-19-2018 11:33 AM

I see they are going from Billings MT to Great Falls MT tomorrow. Those are some unfriendly roads to be on with a slow bike.

The speed limit would be 80, and the trailer would be going 75, and when I would try to do the same maneuver, my van just didn't have any oompf. I had a few white knuckle passing incidents where I was going 90 and the car coming the other direction was going 85 or so, and that half mile of open road between us was shrinking very fast as I tried to get past the trailer. It was all the EcoBoost button. I was amazed at how much gas it saved me, but those passing maneuvers were not fun.

Wish I had noticed that button sooner. What was it doing under the radio way out of the way?

captainhook455 09-20-2018 10:26 PM

Keeping tabs on the Cannonball run is like watching a professional sports team. A bunch of millionaires with some free time.

On a side note I always wanted a Harley until I got one. I have spent more money on this bike than all the metrics I've ever had. That said as soon as the flood waters recede I will pick up a 99 Kawasaki Nomad with 14k miles for 2k. Pictures will be posted when I get it. Don't tell Jim.
