I still rested yesterday. My breathing still wasn't anything I was comfortable with for exercise. I actually went to bed around 9:30. I was actually planning on getting some in this morning, but I never woke up :facepalm: I am using a Polar f4(?) heart rate monitor. I love it. I am all about the numbers. If I can't see how much I burn, I don't see the point of exercise - lol. I actually have just copies - not the originals. I looked on there for shoe advice, but they all said to buy new shoes :| I did find other, older gel inserts. I have them in my newer shoes to try out when I get moving again. I am probably going to have to just suck it up and spend the money on shoes. |
Rather than eating salad, I ate chicken strips and fries today. Ugh! As for doing number two, I have chronic constipation so that's rather difficult to do on command. :p: Oh well....Let's see how I fit my clothes tomorrow. Gotta head to bed since I have a full day tomorrow. Wedding to be in starting at 8am!

I am, but I did get a tattoo on my back. Normally, it wouldn't stop me, but I am concerned about the sports bra hitting it. I don't want to make it hurt more and I definitely do not want to rub on it till it heals. I have to back out for a bit on the workout :( I feel like a failure. But, regardless, I am trying the 6 day a week thing when my mom leaves from her vacay - mid june

You're not a failure if a workout doesn't fit ou. I've got some that you may like. Anyways, so buzzed now. I may not workout tomorrow. Will post up pix in rfn or images thread tomorrow.

I did not workout today. Sleepy and weak, I got lazy. I will exercise again tomorrow. I joined a diet bet, so I have to lose 4% of my weight by the end of the month otherwise I will lose my money. I decided to force myself to lose that last 5 lbs. before I let myself get too heavy.
Bro, don't feel bad for not continuing with Insanity. Walk. You don't need to wear a sports bra for walking, do you? Don't stop exercising otherwise you'll start getting lazy. Sundae, don't do squats. Just continue with your ski exercises. If it gets easier, bend more or hold the pose longer. |
I did plyometric cardio circuit yesterday, but today I got lazy and didn't exercise. :(

I sometimes get into a down cycle as far as motivation goes, but sometimes just doing it is enough to get back at it. I try to stick to workouts I enjoy though. I'm trying to mix in a little running now but its not really my bag.

Thanks, Griff. I walked rather did Insanity but found out it was a drab. I will try to get back to it again. I'm going to see what else more intense for me to do other than Insanity.

I'm trail running mostly after cycling to loosen up before stretching and to fight lactic acid build up. If you do good loosening / stretching after your workout it improves recovery time. My goal is to get in shape to fence 3 straight days at Summer Nationals where I'll be representing my division. So far I'm progressing but I need to be careful with my knees etc...

I got back to the gym this week for the first time in a long time. Nothing close to Insanity, but putting in a solid 30 minutes at a good level on the elliptical. For me this is big progress. I'm not allowed to do anything with my upper body until after I see the doc again in July, and that's frustrating. But I'm happy that I can do a little cardio and not be ill for two weeks afterward!
My plan is to up the intensity of my cardio and lengthen my time to 45-60 minutes daily. I figure that will give me a little all-over loss and set me up for weight training as soon as I'm cleared for it. What are you doing right now, Lola? |

I'll say it again find something fun that you actually miss when you don't do it. One of our college guys is back for the Summer and we fenced and fenced and fenced Thursday night that was just great. I'm going to miss mtb biking this weekend because we're going to see Book of Mormon and I miss it already...

Well, I was going to start Insanity again, but it is just not something I like, It does work. I do notice a difference, but as I've gained an extra 5 pounds, I am thinking of doing half Insanity and half gym. I actually miss going to the gym. I still need new shoes, though.

I actually decided to do two weeks of just going to the gym, then I am going to do Insanity in June. I think that was my problem - trying to just jump in after not doing anything at all. Plus, I think the shoes are a huge issue. I can't get through 5 minutes without my feet hurting. I am planning on going to a running shoe store to get fitted and find shoes that will work - cross my fingers. That's Friday. With the gym, yea the ache, but it isn't the "stop you in your tracks" pain. I am hoping that will help with my motivation. Maybe I should put a notepad with the days until my next beach vacation around the house :) |
Day 1 of the gym was yesterday and I forgot my headphones. I still worked out for 42 minutes with 360 calories burned.
Already have my gym clothes in the car and the water in the fridge for today. AND the headphones. |

The only thing that sucks is I look like a pack mule in the morning: purse, laptop bag, food bag and gym bag. If I am lucky, I can stuff the purse into the top of my food bag - lol |

I went again yesterday. About the same result. 47 minutes and 383 calories burned. It helped that I didn't use the machine's weight loss setting which uses the old adage of medium workout for fat loss this time. Today, I have a mechanic appt, so I will be to the gym after. Maybe I will get there early and be able to have some breathing room! |
No gym yesterday - forgot the bag at home. No gym tonight - hanging out with guy :)

Had a dilemma. I missed the gym yesterday, so I had to make up the calorie burn (I have a goal of 2000 calories burned a week), BUT I have plans to go over a friend's tonight at 6:30
I did the only logical thing - left work early, got in 53 minutes and burned 457 calories :) |

I got to the gym yesterday and today - still only allowed to do cardio, but I can comfortably do 30 - 35 minutes on the elliptical now and burn 400 cal. I haven't been able to push myself that hard for months. It feels good. Now I have four days in which I won't have a single chance to work out - flying to Ottawa, Canada to visit my dad. I guess some fast walking on the road outside his place will have to do. |

Sadly, I was sidelined by going out and then I came down with strep
I still haven't gotten my new shows, but I plan on doing that Wed. I won't be working out until Thursday. By that time, I hope to be feeling relatively normal. I only have a goal of 900 calories to burn this week. That should be easy to do: 300 cals per session for 3 days. I guess I will be starting Insanity (x3) NEXT Sunday |
I actually have just decided I will NOT start Insanity. I don't like it, enjoy it, won't do it.
I have picked out some body weight sculpting routines that I will start doing in the morning so I can still go to the gym - which I actually enjoy. I am hoping making this change will motivate me to do both. Every time I think of restarting Insanity, I get a not happy feeling. Maybe when I am more confident/fit, I will give it another go around. I may even still do some of the workouts to break from the gym routine, but I cannot keep up the level that they were doing |
I started back at the gym yesterday. I haven't been able to get up in the mornings to do the body weight exercises yet, but I am not giving up yet :)
