I'm looking, but I got nothing so far. You have a J.J. an S.S. and M.M. but only three that follow that pattern.

Clodfobble 08-27-2012 07:36 AM

Man, I didn't get half my guys. And I wasn't choosing based on skill ranking! I think the draft is corrupt.

ETA: Yeah, the pattern isn't there anymore, with the guys I ended up with. Maybe I'll work on some trades.

I didn't get ANY good QB! next year, I'm just leaving the ranking to the default setting. I'm going to have to watch that waiver wire.

I did the default setting. And I was just thinking that next year I'm going to figure out how to rank people in the draft.

How did Amanda get both Vick and Manning?

lumberjim 08-27-2012 08:12 AM

Here's how it fleshed out

glatt 08-27-2012 08:20 AM

Interesting. I don't know a lot about football, but I know Eli Manning led the Giants to a Superbowl victory last year. Why was he ranked so low that he went 43rd? I would think he would be at least in the top ten. Are his numbers really that bad?

infinite monkey 08-27-2012 08:53 AM

I got Rivers!

I don't even care about any points: Philip Rivers HAS to play for the River Rats!

He is terrible. You should trade him to me since my team already sucks.

Griff 08-27-2012 04:09 PM

Bummage. I drafted based on 3 defensive positions but it appears you use 1 player? What positions actually play? It looks like I actually have 2 QBs?

jimhelm 08-27-2012 04:51 PM

You have a defense that earns points, and one defensive player that earns individual stats like sacks or ints. You have a qb slot and a flex slot that can be a qb, rb or wr each week. Savy?

Griff 08-27-2012 06:16 PM

Entiendo! Thanks

jimhelm 09-06-2012 09:03 AM

COWBooooOOOOOYS!

Demarcus Ware was a good acquisition. 2 sacks 3 points each plus a 10 point 2 sack in one game bonus! woot!, 3 tackles. 27 points from a defensive player is a rarity.

And this week I'm especially bummed that I didn't get Romo in the draft.... after his 300 yard 3 touchdown game playing for my opponent, who happens to be a lousy Eagles Fan.

not that blue is lousy, mind. the Lousy eagles.

lousy lousy lousy.

but it's a close game already. 75.1 to 76.7

jimhelm 09-06-2012 09:04 AM

Oh, clod... were your picks all something to do with Texas?

Clodfobble 09-06-2012 09:55 AM

Nah, my plan was to draft players with only prime jersey numbers. But I ended up with lots of other people on my list.

bluecuracao 09-07-2012 08:51 PM

I have no idea what I did with the ranking to end up with Romo, but I sure am liking that score so far. Sorry, Jim. ;)

You're welcome.
Hmm... all of my players are hurt, this could be an ugly year. Maybe I'll start my old plan of acquiring players with Presidents names.

I'll give you RGIII and the Giants Defense for him?

and thank you! I didn't realize that you had drafted and dropped him. What were you thinking?

Griff 09-08-2012 03:19 PM

I had too many defensive dudes so I figured between Polamalu and Pierre-Paul I was set. Guess I should have tried to squeeze a rb or wr out of you instead of waiving him. :)

Let's see how Griffin does today...

bluecuracao 09-09-2012 01:02 PM

At this rate, he could surpass Romo in points this week! You still want to trade him?

jimhelm 09-09-2012 01:17 PM

Yup. I like to have cowboys so rooting for them doesn't conflict.

jimhelm 09-09-2012 04:09 PM

At this point in the day, every one of my starting players' teams have won their games. not that that helps at all, but.....

The colts beating the bears, the skins over the saints? Weird.

Edit...the colts did not beat the bears.

glatt 09-09-2012 04:21 PM

Huh.
I didn't realize it had started. I had been meaning to look at my team and maybe tweak it.

I'm not doing too well, but the forecasting guru says I should come from behind. We'll see.

Next week I'll be more involved.

infinite monkey 09-10-2012 07:54 AM

If I'm reading right the Monday night games are projected to net me enough to win this week against the goats. But the road to hell is paved with bad projections.

I do need to pay more attention next week.

Who has Benny? Do you get negative points for sacks? I watched the end of that game and I even almost sort of minutely for a second felt sorry for Benny. ;)

Undertoad 09-10-2012 08:34 AM

Barn-burner here.... Janikowski has to get 7 points of kick for me to beat Zip.

Two 30-yarders and a PAT...

jimhelm 09-10-2012 09:24 AM

I just need 24 points out of Joe Flacco to get past blue.

a bunch of close games.

Spencer needs to overcome a 20 point deficit. He has BenJarvisGreenEllis yet to play, but Clobble has the Ravens' D. The guru says that's too much to overcome.

glatt 09-10-2012 09:41 AM

The newspaper this morning is all about RG3. I've always been annoyed by the Skins and the coverage they get here, and it's amusing to see the coverage now that they seem to actually have a good player. They are actually admitting that they have sucked for a while and are now finally in contention.

Victory is mine.... mwuhuhuhuhahaha

jimhelm 09-10-2012 11:26 PM

Oooh. Ute sneaks past zippy on janikoski's leg.... chasers are holding on by 7.... the rats need 16 more from Rivers.....

zippyt 09-10-2012 11:29 PM

Aww MANNN !!
I Thought i had that

TROOP TROOP TROOP !!!

Oh, noes!

infinite monkey 09-11-2012 07:19 AM

I won? Missed the end of the game.

Nice game, goat! :)

glatt 09-11-2012 07:27 AM

Good job, Chasers!

Undertoad 09-11-2012 08:20 AM

Troop has Akers? Shoulda won dude! I actually drafted Janikowski over Akers and now Akers goes and matches the NFL record 63 yards. Dude has always had the most amazing foot and it's still with him now that he's old.

jimhelm 09-13-2012 08:45 AM

There is a game tonight. Bears v Packers. set your line ups.

glatt 09-13-2012 09:24 AM

thanks!

Griff 09-15-2012 08:48 AM

[sour]So, I went all in on that Packers Bears game expecting an offensive explosion... My team is not good enough to overcome poor performance by Rodgers. Now I see Revis is out for the Jets this week but I can't start Sanders because I foolishly played Hester against a terrible Green Bay defense. The Steelers rb by committee has not sorted itself out so Imma play some borderline guys this week.[/grapes]

Anybody have a #1 running back they'd like to trade? I'm solid at qb.

jimhelm 09-15-2012 11:56 AM

if'n I were you , I'd keep an ear to the ground, w/regards to Stewart. If he plays, he'd be a better starter than the Niner's back up.

jimhelm 09-15-2012 11:44 PM

Blue:
I guess the trade won't become effective until next week.

(Romo for RG3)

Just got back from ride/camp/ride. Too late to adjust today but hopefully next week he's 100%.

Yup, saw that. I wonder why?

Griff 09-16-2012 01:47 PM

When did you guys consummate that?

bluecuracao 09-16-2012 02:48 PM

Yesterday. I saw a little note on my team page that The Bullies were offering up the trade. I should've mentioned it here...sry!

bluecuracao 09-16-2012 02:50 PM

I am being punished for my oversight by sucky points from Brady.

infinite monkey 09-16-2012 07:23 PM

I was hurting earlier...losing points! I can only hope my tonight game and Monday night's game give me enough points to beat the chasers! :)

*grumble* and I have to admit the steelers were good today. *grumble*

infinite monkey 09-18-2012 09:36 AM

I kept thinking I had a slight chance of catching up and winning.

Good job, Chasers! :)

jimhelm 09-18-2012 10:05 AM

i got my ass kicked. wow. rough week all around on my team. you go toad.

Undertoad 09-18-2012 10:35 AM

That's the problem with having everyone on one team. If the team has a good day you're solid, if not...

jimhelm 09-18-2012 10:47 AM

yeah, but I only started 3 cowboys. EVERYONE sucked. Andre Johnson scored 4 pts?, Matt Forte got hurt... flacco was flaccid.

I could have started my entire team and I'd still have lost by 8 points. bleh. turrbull.

jimhelm 09-20-2012 09:50 AM

set your lineups! Giants vs. Panthers tonight at 8:20

jimhelm 09-21-2012 09:48 AM

Glatt,
Philadelphia radio stations are reporting that Jeremy Maclin will not play this Sunday due to a hip pointer

Eta: it occurs to me that some of you may not know that you can make substitutions right up until game time, provided neither player has started yet.

So, at 3:55 pm est, if you have a starting WR that plays a 4pm game, and a WR on your bench that plays at 4 or 8:30 or monday, you can still switch them.

glatt 09-21-2012 08:14 PM

Thanks Jim. I didn't know you could switch things around after some of the play had started.

jimhelm 09-22-2012 10:25 AM

glatt,

are you reading the little notes they give you about the players? I see you put Jennings in to replace Maclin.... but you have Crabtree on your bench:

Quote:

Jennings (groin) was a limited practice participant Friday, Packers.com reports.

Analysis: Jennings is making a strong push to play Monday, but his owners will definitely want to check his Saturday status before locking him into the lineup at the expense of Sunday replacement options.
Quote:

Through the first two games, Crabtree leads the 49ers with 16 targets and 13 receptions for 143 yards. He ranks tied for eighth in the NFL among wide receivers in catches.
Analysis: Crabtree and quarterback Alex Smith have developed a fantastic chemistry not seen in the last few years and the receiver's 81.3-percent catch rate is a big reason as to why. When Smith needed a target on third downs during a crucial late-game drive against the Lions, he consistently went to…read more
the guru is a computer that projects the points the player 'should' score, but I don't think it factors marginally injured players.

I could be wrong, but I think Crabtree vs the Vikings defense is a MUCH better play than a gimpy Jennings against a tough Seahawks D.

Clodfobble 09-22-2012 10:39 AM

Or maybe he only wants you to think that...

glatt 09-22-2012 11:24 AM

Yeah, I read those little notes, and thought about that. It's a risk, but the guru said that Jennings will earn twice as many points as Crabtree if he plays.

I'll check again before the games tomorrow. Guru says youre going to cream me anyway, so 10 points might not make a difference.

bluecuracao 09-22-2012 09:27 PM

The Patriots were terrible for Eagle Green last week, so I switched them out with Green Bay. Let's see what happens with green on green...

Undertoad 09-23-2012 07:21 PM

The Barking Toads deflated today and were looking toward defeat when Peyton Manning steps up and has a huge 4th quarter. Now the Toads are up 16.2 and Spence has only his kicker and defensive player to get those points tomorrow. Computer says he'll get 21 points tomorrow. Computer's been wrong before every time, so it's another close one!
