Oooooooooh, Sheldon, there's only a few of us over here ....

Sundae 11-25-2011 01:55 PM

And how gutted do I feel now...?

Aliantha 11-25-2011 03:33 PM

My gift that I want to send over the Pacific still hasn't arrived here yet. I fear my recipient is not going to have their pressie before the big day. :(

eta: Because I think a lot of my recipient, I'll be doing my utmost to try and make sure it does though. I might have to go and stick it on a plane myself even!!!

Yeah, am not really sulking. Just indulging myself in a little regret for not joining in the funsies.
I knew buying and posting would have been a stretch, so I can't be a misery. And I get my Christmas treat in 23 days!

Still have to get my Secret Santa for school. At least there's no postage costs for that. But the Christmas Staff Room Buffet is £4. Ridiculous. I swear there will be leftovers equalling £20.
We paid £1 for jacket potatoes the other week - I wonder where the extra money went?

Gas , delivery fee ,,, etc,,,,,,

I used to do the same thing Back in the day ,
But my taco bell order shouldnt have been over $3 , and I gave you a 5 ???
Sorry dude Gas cost !

Sundae 11-26-2011 02:07 AM

Thing is, it was organised by a Teaching Assistant who bought them in a local supermarket. She's a good person, so I don't suspect her of scamming us. It's just odd. She supplied butter as well as margarine, but when I went to look for it in the fridge yesterday it had gone. Now I'm pretty much the only butter eater in the staffroom, so someone's taken it home.

I think the office suggested she donated the extra money towards the Christmas buffet, rather than having to track everyone down to refund them 40-50p.

Note to self - take containers for leftovers on 14 December!

I could send you a basket of gay porn too! :-) hehehe

Sundae 11-26-2011 04:52 AM

Being well acquainted with Bel Ami DVDs and James Lear's books, I would be extremely grateful ;)

Or they finished it.

Margarine-eaters go for the butter at every opportunity.

Sundae 11-29-2011 06:23 AM

True dat.

She did admit that the reason she didn't buy butter at home was because her boys would eat it. Copious amounts of it, on any available comestible. When she buys spread they use only what they need.

The staff fridges are stuffed with Flora and Clover.
I imagine someone came across the butter and simply laid into it, eating it off the foil with a wooden spoon.

Where is Arthur C Clarke when you need him?
Oh yes, still dead.

wolf 11-29-2011 12:30 PM

I have one item for my Secret Santa package ready, need to hit a couple of stores to complete it, I think.

classicman 11-29-2011 01:21 PM

I got a couple things yesterday (including a handmade gift from Wolf) and need to pick up a few more before posting to recipient. Hoping to get it done by end of week.
This is gonna turn out to be a smorgasbord of goodies. :)
Thanks again Wolf!

wolf 11-29-2011 01:23 PM

You, sir, are quite welcome. I had a lot of fun, and I was in dire need of fun!

classicman 11-29-2011 01:34 PM

We are definitely getting together again ... much sooner than the 2 year span since our last meet! I'm thinkin January.

limey 11-29-2011 01:52 PM

:bawling:
[envious ... wltm wolf and classic for some fun]

Sundae 11-29-2011 02:04 PM

I was going to post something similar, then realised I'd actually moaned like a cheap whore already in this thread, so didn't dare.

Sounds like a fun trip though chaps.

limey 11-29-2011 02:50 PM

Yabbut Sundae, we have our own GTG and they will be envious, right?

Sundae 11-29-2011 03:06 PM

Zactly

wolf 11-29-2011 04:14 PM

We went to the mall. You go to Scotland.

limey 11-29-2011 04:17 PM

Or the big island, as we call it over here!

Aliantha 11-29-2011 04:25 PM

I'm feeling a bit slack that I've never met any of our Aussie dwellars irl to date.

Maybe we should get our shit together? lol

wolf 11-29-2011 06:17 PM

It's not like you guys can say, "Well, let's meet in the middle, shall we?"

It would be like me going to see BigV and then swinging around to visit Elspode.

(I'm on the East Coast, BigV is on the West, and 'spode is in the middle)

At least Australians understand the concept of vastness. Although you have more big empty than we do.

I just happen to live within an hour of undertoad, classicman, jimhelm, richlevy, steve dallas, bruce, blue curacao, spexxvet and a couple of other folks I'm sure I'm forgetting to mention. Heck, there's a couple in that list that I've not managed to meet yet.

Aliantha 11-29-2011 07:10 PM

Yes that's true. It's about 20hours drive to where Zen lives from here. About the same to Sandypossum's place (from what I can gather from her posts) and Ducky used to live a fair way away, but she's only 4 hours drive now, which is really not much by Australian standards. Actually, probably closer to 5 from here, but who's counting. lol

Aliantha 11-29-2011 08:28 PM

My secret santa gift is going in the mail today. Hopefully it'll get there before xmas although I'm not holding out too much hope at this stage. :(

limey 11-30-2011 04:08 AM

Will there be a "Look what I got!!!!" thread?

BrianR 11-30-2011 01:40 PM

Isn't that what the Cellarites NSFW thread is for? ;-)

busterb 12-01-2011 11:50 AM

I've mailed part on my gift.

zippyt 12-01-2011 12:16 PM

SS 2011 package is On the way

classicman 12-01-2011 01:19 PM

Gah you guys are scaring me. I just finished buying for mine. Now I have to do find the Christmas stuff - paper, tape, bows, boxes and all the trimmings to wrap, box and ship.

zippyt 12-01-2011 01:39 PM

Classic , i dont wrap so well so mine is Verry plain ,
hope my victim doesn't care

classicman 12-01-2011 01:45 PM

Don't say that Zip..
Just say that you are going green this year and don't want to pollute the world with all the unnecessary ink, paper and and and stuff.

Aliantha 12-01-2011 03:15 PM

I didn't even put a card in mine this year. I just totally forgot, so my recipient will have to figure out who it came from. lol Shouldn't be too tough since my name is on the envelope.

Sheldonrs 12-01-2011 03:33 PM

Since mine went international, I had to put my name and address on it and fill out a contents sheet (although I skipped some of the contents) :-)

Aliantha 12-01-2011 03:53 PM

Umahhh! You know they're watching you right Shel? lol

Lola Bunny 12-02-2011 01:09 PM

Argh...I better get going with mine.

classicman 12-02-2011 03:26 PM

OMG ... Getting frustrated!

BrianR 12-03-2011 12:15 PM

Mine is all wrapped and ready to go Monday morning.

wolf 12-03-2011 01:27 PM

About half of the hard work on mine is completed, need to find some fill-in stuff. And a box.

classicman 12-04-2011 11:23 AM

I am SOOO HAPPY right now. A MAJOR surprise is headed one dwellars way.
Have I mentioned how happy I am right now?

SamIam 12-04-2011 11:32 AM

Is this where we post pix of our secret Santa gifts? I got mine already. Now all I have to do is send off my own secret Santa gifts. They should be shipped tomorrow. I hope my dweller likes them. :worried:

classicman 12-04-2011 12:11 PM

I thought we started a new thread in years past, but I'm not sure...

Lola Bunny 12-04-2011 05:57 PM

Start a new thread to show off what Santa sent. :D

DucksNuts 12-05-2011 04:13 AM

Im pissed at me for not staging my comeback a bit earlier :(

Stupid life getting in the stupid way.

BrianR 12-05-2011 12:57 PM

My package is on it's way.

classicman 12-05-2011 01:41 PM

My package has hit the post - should arrive later this week.
The anticipation is killing me!

You should have been here 5 months ago and then you'd have known all about it! ;)

richlevy 12-05-2011 10:41 PM

I bought my gifts last weekend. I picked everything out myself, but Marci wrapped and packed them for me while I was at work today.

Sheldonrs 12-06-2011 12:29 AM

I'm getting worried now. I sent the gift on Nov. 25th. It should have gotten there by now.
