The 'other' Moon Shadow.
You might need to work a little on your voice for this one though Jim... |

OH, and btw, Turbo says....
(He doesn't understand the difference between pianos and guitars yet.) |
Very stong urge ... close piano lid ... start playing ...
It wouldn't last long. |

I got this yesterday to practice with and carry around:
Attachment 34564 It sounds like hell, but the fingerboard is very similar to my Martin, so I like it. I might paint it. It can't hurt the sound any. oh, and you should see the parody of Moonshadow that foot3 wrote. Too risque for me to perform, but hysterical. I'll leave it to foot if he wants to post it. |
I'm not sure it's ready for prime time. I was channeling John Valby, I think.
|
How much are those travel guitars?
|
$199 retail at Sam Ash. cheaper than the $299 Baby Martin. comes with a little bag that you can carry it in, and a strap.
i bought the extended warranty too. 2 extra years against defects and 4 set ups per year for $25. I paid $52 to set up my strat. (this means adjusting intonation, changing the strings ( you buy the strings ) and other minor adjustments. I think I am going to have the saddle lowered a 32nd" to improve the action on the higher frets) I'm pleased with it. It's like having a uke, but i know how to play it! |

I'm sure it's better than you think. I'd be interested in seeing the lyrics. Although the more suspense that leads up to the reveal, the higher the expectations will be.
|
It's not the better-ness of it. It's that it is incredibly vulgar, juvenile, and sophomoric. It is not, however violent or scatological, so maybe I will post it.
But I really think it needs to be performed by someone to be fully appreciated. What would be really awesome would be Lola singing it with her Ukulele. |

alright. twist my arm.
But I expect a musical dwellar to at least attempt a recording. Quote:

Wow, that IS incredibly vulgar, juvenile, and sophomoric.
:) |
That is the funniest thing ever! Come on Jim, the audience demands a performance!

Thats the new travel guitar. I really enjoy it. Sounds tinny and twangy, bu it's fun to play, nonetheless.
|
I love the 'twangy' parts. Very good!
|
And one more eyes closed, drunken, candlelit plucker....nothing else matters...

The instrument I play requires memorization of its music -- and note perfect. (no place to clip a music sheet to) Takes a while. It helps to memorize a piece in phrases, especially something with repeating structures. Folk music tends to be designed around a single voice and a single instrument and easy to sing well. It really shouldn't be dismissed as "just popular" or "just whatever," because it's a very wide-ranging kind of music. |
My Dad and his oldest buddy Vaughn. Vaughn is Guitar George. He knows ALL the chords. you have to turn it up a bit. This was recorded in the loft My dad's bluegrass jam happens in each Tuesday night. I lolled when my dad gave up trying to keep up with him. |
