J.D.DIAMOND 11-13-2010 06:22 AM

Hi everyone,my name is J.D.DIAMOND,I apologize for my introduction in this thread topic but I couldn't find anywhere else to start.

This forum is very interesting to me as I stumbled upon it by mistake. I'm 40 years old and I live in Seattle Wa. with my girlfriend. All members here seem very pleasant and the posts are very much enjoyed.

The other reason why I decided to post in this thread was I saw the title "List Of People Who Can Suck It" and immediately what came to my mind was "thieves" as our house was robbed last week.

xoxoxoBruce 11-13-2010 11:21 AM

There's nothing quite like the rage of being burgled, with nobody to direct it at. Check Craig's list and ebay for your shit.

Sundae 11-13-2010 02:36 PM

I offer this list in the spirit of the OT, but I'm not completely happy with the terminology. If I was listing people I would like to exert a gentle sucking motion in my nether regions, none of these people would be on the list.

People who don't press the button on a pelican crossing
People who press the button on a pelican crossing when it's already been pressed
People who press the button on the bus when it's already been pressed
People who talk too loudly, especially when saying things which I know to be untrue
People who use their phones in QUIET CARRIAGES! (I confront them and feel like a bitch afterwards. but the whole point is mobile phones are banned in those carriages)
Service staff who don't do their jobs properly (I know what properly is - I worked it)
Drivers who don't indicate
Drivers on their mobile phones - the majority of whom do not indicate
Drink drivers
People who say "You need to earn my respect" (usually teens). No - I respect all humans simply by the fact they are human. If you want to, you can earn my disrespect.
People (usually young mothers I'm afraid) who have no peripheral vision, so that I have to walk in the road or on the grass verge - muddy this time of year - when overtaking as a pedestrian
People who say "charity begins at home" as an excuse for not giving to charity, forgetting they've also not given to any UK only charities
Women who walk into pubs and make no eye contact at all with the barmaid - even when ordering a drink - RUDE!
Any journalist on the Daily Mail or Express/ their Sunday versions
The people responsible for sexist and anachronistic adverts
Anyone who remakes a film just to put it into an American setting (I will not be watching Let Me In unless it's raved about by Dwellars)
People that wait until they are told what the total is at supermarket checkouts before even looking for their purse

Once again, I admit that although I am a bleeding heart liberal, I do have a seething reactionary heart. I could probably add to this list every day. Medication has helped enormously, but I still get frustrated by people who don't conform to my internal rules, even though they don't know them. As well as those that break the rules I was brought up to honour.

Yeah I hear that Bruce,I was pretty upset when I came home to see my front dorr wide open.

They smashed through my window, but I just got an ADT system monitored with stickers on windows and signs in both front and back yard.

We put up bars on my back bedroom window and bathroom window, put up "beware of dog" sign because now we are getting a Greman Shepherd.

I'll definately check craig's list.

Thieves are cowards, at least robbers confront you face to face.

Rhianne 11-13-2010 05:49 PM

I like Sundae Girl's list - even though I'm on it!

ZenGum 11-13-2010 06:08 PM

People (I use the term generously) who walk through a crowded public place staring fixedly at their phone, causing all sorts of pedestrian-traffic chaos.

They can suck it because they constantly force me into the dilemma - to trip, or not to trip?

zippyt 11-13-2010 08:42 PM

well placed shoulder works wonders to Zen

HungLikeJesus 11-13-2010 11:37 PM

I like to use the Taser on those people.

No dilemma at all...TRIP.

casimendocina 11-14-2010 07:59 AM

Re SG's post-total agreement. I WILL NOT be going to see any American remake of The girl with the dragon tattoo (or the rest of the Millenium Trilogy). AND what made anyone think that an American remake of Nine Queens or the Office or Kath and Kim was a good idea????????????

xoxoxoBruce 11-14-2010 08:01 AM

What makes you think we'd allow you to see our remake.:p:

morethanpretty 11-14-2010 08:05 AM

They're also making an American version of Top Gear...WTF? Pissed me off when I saw that. Apparently we Americans just can't stand a show that isn't in our accent. Make a Texan version and I might watch....

xoxoxoBruce 11-14-2010 08:09 AM

Rumor has it, the new version might be better.

footfootfoot 11-14-2010 10:00 AM

I doubt that highly. This country is far too PC to improve on Clarkson's rants. (this cut doesn't have his great line on a call to roadside assistance "Yes, I am going to be eaten by dogs...and I am a pregnant woman and I am all on my own.")

Undertoad 11-14-2010 10:48 AM

They did an American Top Gear pilot two years ago with Adam Carolla, my man-crush, but it was not picked up because network executives appear to be all morons.

Mr. Carolla is our Jeremy Clarkson.

Ex-squeeze me?
You have "serious" politicians who believe there are mice with human brains, and mothers who think their children will catch teh ghey if they see a 5 year old boy in a skirt!
We can't top that.

Undertoad 11-14-2010 11:11 AM

Apparently the US Top Gear will be on the History Channel and the comic Adam Ferrara will be the comedy host.

The History Channel airing it means that a third of the show will be discussions about historic cars. This is what they do with "Pawn Stars", have people bring in antique guns and art. My buddy who owns an actual pawn shop says that the entire show is bullshit.

I predict failure.

Yes but Clarkson is being humorous whereas our crazy politicians are serious. Aye, there's the rub.

And I agree with UT, but would add EPIC fail.

Sundae 11-14-2010 12:14 PM

Good point, well made.

But although Clarkson is larger than life and I enjoy watching him, he is genuinely right-wing in his views - I can't read his columns/ books without a little bit of frothing.... And not in my pants.

First off the mothers woried about their children catching the ghey is a complete misrepresentation of the facts, they were concerned that the mother allowing her son to wear a dress would cause him to become queer, not their children.

You can't top our crazies?

'There will be no interest charge and if the Government would like it as well, it will put up money for funding hospitals, schools and the building of Crossrail,' he said. 'These things can be done but a senior member of the Government has to accept the invitation to a phone call to the chairman of Foundation x.

Jamie, who lives with girlfriend Jenny, 24, said: ”I called the helpline to see if there was a bigger bed anywhere in the country where I could go – but I was told there was nowhere they were aware of.

I read yesterday that Shane Jacobson (a.k.a. Kenny) is the host of the Australian Top Gear. Much as I like Shane Jacobson, do we need an Australian Top Gear?

Sundae 11-15-2010 05:06 AM

I surrender, Bruce.
We do crazy pretty well for a small island.

And we have a gutter press who don't let facts get in the way of a good story. Pretty much like I didn't with the Halloween story - ahem.

But you got more crazies because you got more room for them to run around in :)

There are certain states within these United that seem to harbor more than their fair share of nuts. Without Florida, Texas, Oregon and Cally, the entire country would be more normal.

classicman 11-15-2010 09:28 AM

lol @ Bri - You forgot the biggest offender of them all. Wash DC.
Then again that technically isn't a state, but still.

skysidhe 11-15-2010 02:13 PM

Oregon looks like grandma's bloomers next to Nevada. The most crazy states are the Mexican border states and the backwards states. (insert deep southern accent)

merc, you can suck ibram if you're desperate to get into it. If s/he is willing, of course. Try to be on time next time.

I have been watching the UK version for a number of years. There is no way in hell that the US version will be as good. I just will not be the same without that dry British wit. No way.

xoxoxoBruce 11-25-2010 07:35 PM

Uh, Uk version of what?

Oh, wait, Top Gear... the original post. nevermind:blush:
