This reminds me of when I was young teens and BBC Radio 1 had a competition to win a trip to NYC -my life's dream at that point. You had to name 7 songs with New york on the title. I managed 6 ...and Arthur's theme. I didn't win.
(probably less of a challenge for Americnas on the 10s than Brits in the 80s....)
Damn.
Can you remember the songs you came up with? |
gawd no. Apart from Arthur's theme. i dunno, give me a few. Meanwhikle from that era:
New York new york -Sinatra, of course.
In a New York minute Henley/Eagles
Sting Englishman in New York...
I'm thinking maybe I was 17 because now I have a half memory of this song being the catalyst for the competition... but I thought I was younger.... I'm 40 this yer, I'm allowed to start being forgetful, no? Get off my.... green flat thing... |
hee hee

*snork*
This counts right...?
How the hell did we not have this already ...or is it that forgetful thing again?

this is a really cool way to revive good songs long forgotten (and some not so good, but....)
and while searching for that I found this:
(this is truly awful, sorry)
came across this one by accident. prety glad I never heard it before.... |
Ya know, there's a fuck of a lot of songs about rain.....
I'mm'a bug out here -I'm scraping the barrel for memory and finding more by accident than purpose -and a shitload of stuff I never heard of before! And I'm knackered |
