As long as they're not Sanish-speaking refugees. ;-)

But it probably only pays like $1.75/hr.

Given that it's through the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, you're probably right, Wolf. But that is EXACTLY the sort of thing I want to do.

I've been practicing my Sanish recently, trying to use it with others that speak it. It's good practice, you know.

I took the County Caseworker 1 test for the state in January, and did very well. Montgomery County came calling in March...all I probably would have had to do is play nice in the interview and I would have had the job. I turned it down though...I couldn't justify driving or taking the hi-speedline to Norristown every morning for the salary. Montgomery County has to be one of the richest counties, if not the richest, in the Commonwealth. $26,700? Bullshit.
They came calling again last weekend...and apparently the new year brought an increase in pay.

$30,458.

I sent my paperwork back yesterday.

I knew Oaks was growing and all, but this must have been the part of town that you didn't show me, UT:

Dumbshit, Inc. has an open position for a Billing Clerk located in the metropolitan area of Oaks, PA.

Undertoad 03-11-2003 09:23 PM

It has its own exit, so that's something.

elSicomoro 03-11-2003 09:29 PM

Wait a minute though...Oaks is just a term for the area, right? Oaks is part of a township, innit? (e.g. KOP is an area of Upper Merion Township)

Undertoad 03-11-2003 10:39 PM

Yeah, there's no actual town or borough.

MaggieL 03-11-2003 11:56 PM

Where's the "metropolitan area"? At the Target? :-)

elSicomoro 03-14-2003 04:40 PM

Now this is something I can identify with.

That link took me to a picture of a sheep....Hmmm.

elSicomoro 05-11-2003 12:43 PM

Look, you and slang can have all the inflatable sheep you want. Don't try and drag me through the muck and mire...I don't need blow-up toys. :)

elSicomoro 07-11-2003 08:55 PM

After 569 days, my job search has come to an end.

I go permanent with Radian on Monday.

And I hope I do not have to go through this kind of shit again any time soon.

dave 07-11-2003 09:17 PM

Permanent for a few months until you get laid off, right? :)

elSicomoro 07-11-2003 09:32 PM

Knowing my luck, I wouldn't be surprised. :)

More on this to come in the "A Revenge of Sorts" thread.
