Perhaps I should put my continuing obsession with tiny knitteds here, rather than clogging up the "what did you make today" thread with them. Here is Gingerbeerd.

Limey's army. ;)

I was going to ransack Grifftopia for each of those actual items and put them in a photograph but I'm tired.

Vintage monopoly pieces are great.

I don't have the ship. I have the others, but I like that ship.

I'm the top hat, or I'm not playing

I want the car or perhaps the shoe.

Anyone care to guess which monopoly piece I'd go for? :p
|
Of course, Dana.
|
It would be the shoe. All women love shoes. ;)
|
Nooooo.
It would be the dog! |
Duh. :haha:

Maybe Limey needs a yarn holder?
|
Yes please Santa!
Sent by thought transference |
So the people who make yarn holders at pottery have the "hole" accessible via a slot to the rim so it looks like an upside-down comma) so you can remove the ball from the holder while it's still attached to the garment. This one looks like just a hole so you'd have to cut the yarn, but it won't slip out while you're knitting. Which do you think it should be, limey?
|
Both are acceptable. You use the sort with the slot I'd you think you're likely to work on your knitting project in places other than at home. Mr Snotter would be for projects which remain at home until completion.
Sent by thought transference |
Could do both. snotter on one side, curly tail on the other
|
Should they stay flat on the surface or be able to roll about? Or is that a matter of personal taste? I thought they should be able to roll, but most I see on the interwebs have features which would make that undesirable if one wanted to keep them in tact
|
The yarn bowl should stay still on a flat bottom [snicker]. It is the yarn that should roll freely within the confines of the yarn bowl but be prevented from rollicking all around the floor, under furniture etc. by the yarn bowl.

Cat resistant?

I nearly bought this bogeyman egg separator for Limey for Christmas (Amazon link). I ran out of money so she had to make do with a calendar!
Great minds think alike; although she'd get far more use from the yarn holder of course. |

I've commissioned Spencer to create one of these for you, Limes. Just given him the idea, and we'll see what he comes up with. He really liked the Viking hat and is excited about making one as thanks for the time you spent on it. I can't wait to see how it comes out.
|
Gonna be so cool.

Abso-bally-lutely old chap! Looking forward to it!

Not as cool as the Viking helmet, but I would do a double take on an adult. Somebody is selling these on etsy for $54.

I saw this in a video on repurposing of binder clips.

I pretend to be afraid of binder clips because I cut my hand badly when I fell on one while goofing around.

Oh, THAT's a binder clip. In these parts we call that a bulldog clip. You got bit by a bulldog clip. Sent by thought transference |

Pantone would not approve.

curious...
I was at one of the local Goodwill stores the other day and in the yarn-ish section was a big zippered bag of raw wool, $50. Well beyond my what-the-hell budget, but squarely in my what-in-the-hell?? interest. So.. it was maybe a rough cube/sphere 18-24 inches in diameter, maybe a few pounds (hard to say how much was tare weight). Is that a good deal? I have no frame of reference at all. |
Seems pricey

Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, yes? My first attempt at a yarn bowl:
