Man, you always get good colors. Almost HDRish.

Bravo HM! I love them both.

By the way, the second picture is a textbook candidate for the HDR treatment. You should try it. I actually don't have any software that does it, but I know what you're talking about. You should be able to handle it easily, especially in light of your experience with stereoscopic images.

Happy Monkey 11-28-2007 07:10 PM

Thanks!

My camera doesn't provide an easy way (as far as I can tell) to take the multiple exposures needed for HDR. I'd like to get a snazzier one some time, but have no immediate plans.

BigV 11-28-2007 09:59 PM

srsly, two clicks from the same spot will do for the mechanics of the picture taking. The camera's "trick" would have to be to let you explicitly control the exposure. Expose the first picture so the lightest part of the frame is properly exposed, leaving the dark part really dark and then another snap from the same spot with the lightest part properly exposed and the bright parts blown out. Then ... overlay them... ok.. that's where the software comes in handy, but the idea's the same.

Now *I* want to try it... I'll be keeping my eyes open for a likely subject.

Happy Monkey 11-28-2007 11:47 PM

I actually just discovered that my camera DOES have the automatic exposure bracketing. I may have to track down some of that software.

Excellent!

I'm sure you can google up the same kinds of reviews I can wrt PSPX2. The price was right and the reviews I read were very favorable. Please report back, with pictures!

I noticed this attractive pattern on the roof of the car a couple weeks ago as I began the trip to work.

Kitsune 12-05-2007 12:42 PM

Wow -- You should have put the car roof shot in the "What is this?" thread. Very nice!

BigV 12-05-2007 01:00 PM

Thanks. The thought occurred to me, but I decided it would have been too easy. For us northerners, anyway. :p

Razzmatazz13 12-05-2007 01:14 PM

I'm pretty north and I wouldn't have gotten it right away...looks like puddles on a tarp at first glance. (to me)

Nice shot :)

Good one, BigV!

Not paying attention to your caption, I thought it was a bunch of feathers at first, then changed my mind and decided it was weird carpeting of some kind.

You put a nickel in the HDR slot; here's a dollar's worth. I've been bitten. I don't have the AEB, but I did find the manual exposure button. More to come later. Gonna have to locate the tripod too.

Happy Monkey 12-18-2007 09:17 PM

Cool. I've taken some AEB pic sets, but haven't set aside the time to combine 'em yet.

Ok. It's later. You've some good shots around.

Thanks, ma'am. Much obliged. I had a *later* later in mind. In the meantime, how about some more color?

Inspired by the Kitsune's opening post and ZenGum's shot of some similar scarves...somewhere else.

shina 12-19-2007 08:28 PM

Beautiful colors! Was this on vacation somewhere? A market or bazaar?
