(takes a bow)

well, I was going to say that before, but you said it doesn't come in different sizes. I've got a 12 inch ruler and a 6 inch ruler, as well as a yardstick.

theotherguy 05-29-2007 04:20 PM

That was my thought, but the only one size threw me. I happen to have a ruler 6" long x 1/2" wide, a ruler 12" long x 1 1/2" wide and an 18" long x 1 1/2" wide. I also have metric ones. Just me bitching - carry on.

Rexmons 05-29-2007 04:22 PM

sorry i was looking right at the ruler on my desk, which is a standard ruler (12")

theotherguy 05-29-2007 04:24 PM

Here is a hint - It is a ruler.

Cloud 05-29-2007 04:44 PM

okay, I have one: animal.

This means anything from the animal kingdom.

theotherguy 05-29-2007 04:45 PM

does it walk on four legs?

no

jester 05-29-2007 05:42 PM

#2 - is it a carnivore?

Cloud 05-29-2007 06:07 PM

no.

Clue: It is not AN animal; it is a thing which comes from the animal kingdom.

Clodfobble 05-29-2007 10:14 PM

Waitaminute, I call bullshit on one of Rexmons' answers--rulers are rigid! What good is a ruler that bends?

lumberjim 05-29-2007 11:27 PM

clobble, a thin metal ruler bends....even a wooden one bends slightly.....or else we wouldn;t be a ble to make the boi yoi yoi yoing sound you can make by holding a third of it down on the edge of a table and 'diving boarding' the other end.

lumberjim 05-29-2007 11:28 PM

#2! is it brown and sticky? this is really #3, but .....hey

Cloud 05-30-2007 09:08 AM

no

jester 05-30-2007 09:11 AM

#6 (?) Is it stuffed?

Cloud 05-30-2007 09:13 AM

no, it is not stuffed.

Rexmons 05-30-2007 09:16 AM

#7 - Is it normally found outdoors?

Cloud 05-30-2007 09:19 AM

yes, it is found outdoors in its natural state. (It's from an animal, remember?) But . . . as used by humans, it's frequently found indoors.

Rexmons 05-30-2007 09:25 AM

is it honey?

glatt 05-30-2007 09:26 AM

Is it a food/drink?

10 - is it found naturally in the western hemisphere?

it's possible, although most come from other places

yes, but it's not the most common use

Rexmons 05-30-2007 10:17 AM

does it live in perfect harmony with ebony?

Cloud 05-30-2007 10:19 AM

nope. But you're getting close!

glatt 05-30-2007 10:21 AM

13 - is it wax?

Cloud 05-30-2007 10:26 AM

No.

Rexmons 05-30-2007 10:46 AM

is it something that can be worn?

come on, you guys, you're so close!

Rexmons 05-30-2007 12:12 PM

sorry, just got back from lunch. is it a fur?

Cloud 05-30-2007 12:27 PM

well no. I'm pretty sure fur occurs commonly in the Western hemisphere, nor is it used in manufacturing. Is it? (tries to imagine furry machinery). Plus someone suggested pelts.

No fur, or hair.

Sundae 05-30-2007 12:41 PM

Is it bigger than a breadbox? :)

no. what I'm thinking of is made by animals other than man.

glatt 05-30-2007 02:41 PM

leather?

Cloud 05-30-2007 02:44 PM

nope!

Rexmons 05-30-2007 04:06 PM

when i said ivory she said it was close...

glatt 05-30-2007 04:14 PM

And she said the same when you asked if it could be worn.

What animal products can be worn? Wool? She said it wasn't fur or hair. Can't be wool. Leather? nope. tortoise shell? Seems unlikely. Besides, that's very western hemisphere. Coral beads? Seems pretty unlikely, also western. The excretion of lac bugs? Do they put that crap in hair spray? I know it's used for furniture finish and is collected in India. Maybe, but seems like a stretch. I won't guess that.

Damn if I know. I'm stumped.

Rexmons 05-30-2007 04:16 PM

crocodile skin would fall under leather too... maybe it's the magic unicorn horn from "Legend"

Cloud 05-30-2007 04:17 PM

Aaaah! You're so close!

18 questions have been asked, but I don't care. If you give up, I'll tell you. or you can just keep asking questions.

Clodfobble 05-30-2007 07:00 PM

Pearls!

Cloud 05-30-2007 08:25 PM

YAAAYYYYYY! Pearls it is!

Rexmons 05-31-2007 07:28 AM

wouldn't that fall under jesters jewelery question?

Cloud 05-31-2007 08:56 AM

no.

a pearl does not equal body jewelry.

In fact, real pearls are unsuitable for body jewelry, because you're not supposed to get them wet.

I'm up for another round, if Clodfobble would care to choose an item.
