The far Christian right unifies by creating the illusion of victimization and building fear. Its getting tougher to harness these days with all the real distractions, so some huff needed to be made, now. Also seems to be a desparate attempt to boost fox ratings.
And it is correct to assume that any religion that is threatened or "under attack" by not being sited in a Walmart ad or being denied a city hall manger is a pretty sad and frail entity to begin with.
But back to Cheney. Where are Christians standing on a real issue, the issue of US government sanctioned torture? The sensible Christians I know and love seem pretty unified that its not a good M.O. Cheney is wrong. For a variety of reasons, impeachment, at least, is not out of the question...
