yep. twice. took lesser charge on the first and a directed verdict of not guilty on the second. the second one though sucked more than the first because of the almost 72 hours in harris county.
|
Twice , once in Tiwanna Mex , for PD ( or sum such ) The shore patrol came and bailed me out for a 6pack of bud , so I know i am worth SOMEthing !!!
Oh and from experence NEVER , I Repete NEVER find your self in the Tiwanna 8th street jail !!!!! It is an experence that you will NEVER forget !!! And a week or so after i got out of the USMC , DUI , state trooper asked " sir have you been drinking ??" as he opened my car door , I rolled out on the ground , looked up at him and said " YUP !!! " |
I have not been arrested, although I shoplifted once and got away with it.

Your Honor. I have to take the 5th. on this question
|
Damn, just remembered. Not getting arrested but the fact that a friend and I used to shoplift Pick N Mix sweets nearly every day after school. We'd buy about 20p between us and escape with about £1 worth down the sleeves of our school jumpers.
At the time I considered it a really funny joke, and it didn't even come to mind until I read this thread again. And yet if I found out my niece was doing it now I would consider her on the slippery slope to a life of crime. Tcha. |
Once. When I was 14. I shoplifted, but there were no charges brought against me. Never did it again.
|
Reading this thread, I am comming to the conclusion that the shoplifting problem is even worse WORLDWIDE than the retailers have been claiming all along. Seems like the Cellar has unveiled a regular crime wave, right here amongst us :eyebrow:
(And no, I never did shoplift. I'm really straight-arrow about stuff like stealing, I just have a problem about speed limits and governmental interference in our personal lives.) |
shoplifting, warned. We did it to play chicken.
|
When I was a wee lad, I did once shoplift from a paint store. Took one of those shiny gold letter stickers people used to use to make signs. It just called out to me. It was like the telltale heart when I got home. I didn't know where I could stick it without being caught, so I ended up just hiding it in the trash.

I had a similar experience, when I was still in short pants. The thing that caught my eye was a comic book. I followed my Dad through the checkout line, into the parking lot and into the car. As I sat in the seat reading my comic book, my Dad looked at me with surprise and asked where did that come from? I pointed to the store. Well, he hauled me out of the car and explained in very clear terms that what I did was stealing and that this was the end of that career. He also led me back into the store where I apologized to some adult, maybe the cashier, maybe the manager, and returned the comic book.
I didn't get spanked, but I never repeated it. |
I stole a sparkly hairclip once when I was about six. When I got home, I discovered that somehow it had fallen out of my pocket, and I figured that was my bad karma for stealing it in the first place.
After that, I never stole from a store, but I repeatedly stole things from friends and relatives until adolescence--usually cute tiny trinkets like a marble or something. |

Also, I sold my company and started working for the acquiring company. One month into that I told the CEO I had to take a one-month leave of absense to go to Jail. He was shocked. But I came back and 18 months later he gave me a promotation and a hefty raise, just last week. |
