I agree 100%. My point wasn't about complaining - it was a poorly expressed idea that since, our parents gave so much of themselves to us - that it can help to reflect on that when it is our turn to look after them.

I'm in no position to comment on how to handle that burden and I would be mortified if I thought that wolf took my comment the wrong way - I was only trying to provide a comforting thought to ease her burden.

Beestie, It's perfectly normal to be embarrassed about resenting an unpleasant job we should, even want, to do. It helps to vent to people that understand that were venting and not complaining.
It's like soldiers, they love their country, feel they owe some service time and even want to do some, but still bitch plenty. Doesn't diminish their loyalty or dedication a bit.
