My friend had a mousie in the kitchen, set up a trap operation, but no caught mousie. Later, she got the wiff....he's dead somewhere. Near the door, behind the boots?, wha...? she found the bugger inside an upright empty wine bottle, in the recycling bin. It was a tight squeeze, but she thinks he died happy.

Maybe, but it was better when she just did it for fun. ;)

Perhaps the little guy went in skinny, and then got fat on wine, and could not get out. Not unlike the Gomery inquiry here in Canada.

Your own, or in stores as an anti-status protest of some kind?

I heard on the radio the other day that yer standard field mouse can fit through a space the size of two stacked dimes. That seems unlikely, but I'm no expert.

wolf 04-07-2005 12:26 PM

I'd always heard that they could squeeze through a half-inch gap. Two stacked dimes seems pretty extreme.

jaguar 04-07-2005 12:29 PM

My own, I went though a phase of browsing gap stores and leaving little calling cards about the working conditions of their factories in the pockets but i haven't got any printed for a while.

wolf 04-07-2005 12:49 PM

I have these business card sized cards that say "No Guns/No Money" which get left with businesses that post no firearms signs ... but that's about as far as I've gone.

(Most unusual place I've ever had to leave one is a sporting goods store that sells rifles and pistols ... and has a shooting range on the premises. I still haven't figured that one out.)

A lot of animals, bunnies, rodents, cats too I believe can fit anywhere their head will fit. As long as they can get their skull thru a hole, crack, whatever, the rest of their body can wiggle around to fit thru too. This past fall we had a pretty bad mouse problem in the lab, and I actually had one chew thru into a Rubbermaid continer that I had put tea bags in to keep them safe. Made me mad, those aren't cheap!! We caught 2 very fat meece, about 2 weeks apart, and the problems stopped.

Reminds me of a story my dad told me once. He was at his physics lab, getting ready for a visit by some VIP, and there was a cricket somewhere in the lab, chirping away like crazy. Really loud. It just wouldn't do for this VIP to hear the cricket. The lab is full of expensive optics and electronics, so using some sort of spray poison to kill the hidden cricket was out of the question. It would get in the air and contaminate the optics. So my dad went over to a big tank of liquid nitrogen they had for cooling something, and filled up a foam coffee cup. He knew the cricket was somewhere behind/underneath one particular bench, so he threw a couple of cups full of the liquid nitrogen back there until the loud chirping stopped.

His right ear appears to be missing in the second pic. not to mention the collagen injected Stewart Little lips

True, if the skull will fit, they're in your shit.

I think his right ear is between his head and the roller.

we had a mouse build a nest in our printer a few months ago here in the office. kept seeing the poop and not being able to find his escape root.

a few weeks after giving up setting traps, we go to change the cartridge and there is the evidence! mouse runs off never to be seen again and the printer still works fine.
