Perhaps it still isn't advocating gun control. It could instead advocating bullet control and Charlton Heston control. :)

i've said it before and i'll say it again. michael moore is a masterful marketer. he doesn't exactly come off as balanced in any way, but he sure gets butts into the seats and $$$ into his pockets.

If only more people looked at it that way instead of believing him to be telling the Truth(tm).

From what I've seen and heard he kept this more above the belt than Bowling for Colombine. Moore has got rich off stiring shit but the world needs it's shit stirrers more than ever these days. Considering the sheer amount of lieing in US politics (it really has no competition, the amount of outright lies is incredible and how people can even keep a straight face saying some of that stuff is beyond me) making sure his facts were straight has made this a more potent political weapon and made it much harder to take away the sting.

You guys could just as easily be talking about Rush Limbaugh with these quotes.

lookout123 07-07-2004 04:27 PM

actually i think i've been very clear in the past - rush, hannity and most other talk show types are just entertainers. for all of the bluster they show on the air they would probably tell you the same in a personal conversation.

they are no different than howard stern. it is a carefully cultivated image.

although politically i am pretty conservative, i have no use for rush, or especially hannity. anybody who gets famous by reducing the issues of the day down to "HE'S A LIBERAL!!!" or similar comments is pretty damn worthless to me. blind allegiance to a party is the height of ignorance.
