Characters:

*The Saint
*Most of the character names from XMen comics.
*Mrs. Emma Peele (from the Avengers..I have no idea why I like that name. Maybe it's the way John Steed says it...).

Various bands listed in your local City Paper (just browse through the section where they have the ads for the local clubs, etc. and the bands that are playing there. Some of the names are crazy!). :D

YES! I went through books 1-9 in like 8 days, but I'm finding book 10 a little slower. I think I'm trying to drag it out until 12 is in paperback....

The first one was kinda slow, then picked up at the end, and I was hooked...

lookout123 06-08-2004 02:45 PM

the last one is pretty slow, but it does wrap things up nicely. the last one won't be out in paperback for nearly a year. go to the library if you don't want to buy the hardcover.

OnyxCougar 06-08-2004 02:53 PM

Yeah, I think I'm gonna do the library thing, then buy it in paperback next year.... Then I'm starting the Purpose Driven Life (with the journal).

I'm in the middle - end of book 11 and bawling.... man this sucks... in a good way...

i know exactly what you are saying.

//////// example of my sick/funny streak. a friend of mine read the first 2 books and lost interest. i couldn't get him to read the rest until i asked if he was surprised when chloe was sold into slavery by her pimp. the loser then proceded to read all the way through the last book in about 2 weeks. possibly a little machiavellian on my part but i found it humorous.

BWAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

On the plane back from New Orleans, the pilot introduced himself as "Chad Richards" and my husband and I looked at each each other, and all dramatically, we said "RAYford STEELE".

We crack ourselves up.

Yossarian, from Heller's "Catch-22". It's such a great name, I want to give it to my first kid, boy or girl.

A friend of mine from high school is going to be a dad soon, and he's threatening to name the kid Reproductive Unit #1.

You just need to find your own, more appropriate, "the" appendage.

OnyxCougar 07-04-2004 07:56 PM

Well lookout, I finished the series.

I have to say, they handled JC pretty well. I think I'd be a little more than worried if I had to write that, but I like that they made him very individually oriented, on a mass level. And I like the whole Nicolae Carpathia outcome.

I did end up feeling a little....gipped by the ending tho... I wanted more of the Irene/Amanda thing and Chloe/Buck/Kenny and Rayford/Bruce/Ken/Tsion/Albie thing.
