Bah, count me in =)

Would it be possible (where I'm in Canada) to mark on the green customs slip you get at the P.O.:

A) Gift

B) Value under $20CAD.

???

Customs can _really_ ding us here. A buddy of mine order $30 worth of t-shirts from a place in Jersey and got dinged with $75 worth of customs fees.

lumberjim 03-25-2004 04:55 PM

what, you don;t like the customs nazis pawing through your things?

yes, I am wise in the ways of shipping to canada. jinx had me shipping gifts to her canadian friends a lot last year. I'm familiar with the forms, and the amount of tape needed to keep them from snooping.

I've volunteered to assist UT in packaging and shipping these, and that's just how I planned to mark them.

I am unfamiliar with shipping to switz, belgium, scotland, aus, etc, so any pointers from those of you in those countries would be apprec.

Merci!

You can go onto the USPS website and see what forms are needed and what restrictions certain countries have.

http://ircalc.usps.gov/

You go there and enter envelope, package, post card, etc. Then select the country. If you just want to know the restrictions and custom forms needed for each country then just enter any weight. The next page will have at the bottom, links for Prohibitions, Restrictions, and Custom Forms. Click any of those to get the info you need.

Europe is generally not a problem, but if you end up mailing to some smaller country in like south america or somthing like that you might want to put something like "feminine hygiene products" on the part where you say what the box contains. Sometimes when mailing to a smaller or poorer country the people in the customs office or in the country's postal system will open the box if it looks like it might be something good, and take whatever is inside it.

Question

Did I miss when the deadline for orders and payment is?

I can order four shirts now, but I won't have any cash until next week.

Just for the record, retirement sucks!

Brian

no hard deadline, but i'm figuring that i'd like to have the order cashed up and sent to the printer no later than 4/15. there will be warnings if it's earlier than that, though.

I'd like to point out how fine the final design looks. Two thumbs way way up for the folks who contributed.

Just as it comes, please, no ice, no ketchup ...:3eye:

Just a quick update.

At this point we have orders for 67 shirts. The largest single one party order is 10, followed closely by and order for 8 shirts. Still plenty of time to beat those records.

I'd like to thank Zippy for sparking this idea, as well as everyone that contributed in the design process. I think we should make this the first annual tshirt. I could slip a small 2004 into the design somewhere, and we could do this every year in the spring.

tell you what, I'll give you about a year to think about it.

OK, PEOPLE.

We'll start wrapping up ordering in about a week. If you've been procrastinating, let's get the lead out!

I think this is a great idea - we could generate a some real profit over the years for UT.

maybe we could do a line of mouse pads, bumper stickers, members only rings (that open secret dungeon doors) and temporary tatoos!!
