looking for a source

"We know he was immediately concerned that 24 Americans might not have access to Bibles"

I can see this coming from Bush, but does anyone have a viable source for this information? (I desperately need it for a debate I am having with a friend :)

Good one serge! :)

I did a search for "bush bibles" at news.yahoo.com and found this link:

http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/2001...ush_dc_14.html

It mentions the bibles in passing at the top of the story, then talks about them at length at the bottom of the story.

Happy reading

Re: looking for a source

This was discussed on "This Week with Cokey and Sam" the Sunday following the release of 'hostages' in their round table discussion. That discussion asked serious and disturbing questions as to who was in charge. Ironically George Wills was quiet as questions were asked about the White House first day response to this confrontation - a response that apparantly was eventually halted by Collin Powell. It appears that all White House statements first had to be personally approved by Collin Powell because White House mentality advocated, among other things, an attack on China. Scary.

Last nights Nightline addressed this problem. They included interviews with Jay Leno who noted that Bush Intelligent jokes don't get the laughs any more. Another continued to note the reason it is no longer funny is that many are suspecting that it is not a joke - that Bush is that much out of touch with the job.
