Well that explains it. (Trying to get the Monty Python Lumberjack song out of my head ) I am satisfied. I made attempts at woodcarving out of boredom a few times. I was rather good at it, then I got a computer, computer games, programming books...and life has never been the same since.

FileNotFound is definitely my long lost twin.

well, sometimes when i want to feel pretty.......

actually, i am big and burly
....alas, no beard or flannel, but if i could make what i make and get away with that at work, i would!

Feel Pretty? Agh..all your fault..

I feel pretty,
Oh, so pretty,
I feel pretty and witty and bright!
And I pity
Any girl who isn't me tonight.

I feel charming,
Oh, so charming
It's alarming how charming I feel!
And so pretty
That I hardly can believe I'm real...

My name is homage to my favorite comic strip of all time, Bloom County.

(It was either SteveDallas or Oop Ack.)

I thought that was R2D2's first name before Hollywood Americanized it.

ladysycamore 11-13-2003 07:25 PM

Came up with the name after Syc told me that he was once known as "LordSycamore". I thought that was cool, and since I AM his lady, the name seemed to fit. :D

Uryoces 11-13-2003 08:35 PM

Latin name for gray fox. Means "dog with tail".

JeepNGeorge 11-13-2003 09:09 PM

No creativity on my name. Just like my jeeps is all. It's much better than my usual moniker of theschlongmancummeth. ;)

The original thread is called "Explain Yourself!", created by Hubris Boy almost 2 years ago. I'm too lazy to go back and find it now. There is also another one, created by Nic Name I believe...also too lazy to go find that one.

Short story of my handle: Sycamore is the name of a band I formed in 1993, and I started using the handle for myself online about 6 years ago. It means nothing...the name just sounded cool.

Score.

Quite the creative re-definition of <a href="http://www.auburn.edu/academic/science_math/arboretum/pix/trees/sycamore.jpg">nothing</a>, die Sykomore.

As far as the original topic of the thread...I first got the intarweb sometime shortly after being obsessed over some contrived science fiction book involving a skunk. I've just stuck with it since then, a few evolutionary changes notwithstanding.

edit: Oops, fixed misbehaving BBCode.

elSicomoro 11-13-2003 10:23 PM

You out-of-context posting bastard!

People used to think I came up with the name via the Terence Trent D'Arby song "Wishing Well"...or that "sycamore" means something "deep" to me. It does now, but when I came up with the name originally, it just sounded cool and started with an "S", as did our previous band names (Suicidal Elves, Shoebox, Swell, Sin).
