I always thought PA was the Birthplace of Freedom, but it looks like the grave of individual responsibility.

Does anyone else see the irony of this? The state will sell you the booze to get in trouble with, then incarcerate you when you do!

The ultimate irony: they desperately want to stop drunken driving. But in order to buy booze, ya gotta show your Driver's License.

Hey Syc, you should oughta take a trip across the river for wine buying. That's where the real action is. Big ol' supermarkets of wine, little dingy cold places...

Unfortunately, it's about the most expensive hobby a person can take up.

I've thought about hopping across the river. But in reality, figure it takes me 15 minutes to get from Torresdale to Palmyra, then $2 (soon to be $3) to get across the Tacony bridge. In the end, I've spent about the same amount of money. If I'm going to buy wine in PA though, I'm gonna buy semi-decent wine. I cannot justify paying $3.50 for a bottle of Boone's...ridiculous.

Although booze is plentiful back home in Missouri (grocery stores, gas stations, etc.), to my knowledge, there are several counties in SW Missouri (the Bible Belt) that are actually dry, as there are apparently in parts of Arkansas. Talk about driving 12 miles on your tractor to town to get a drink. ;)

Practically all of north Texas, except for the big cities (Dallas, Ft. Worth, Amarillo, Lubbock) is dry.

You may have to go hundreds of miles to get a beer.
