It means "I'm backspacing over what I've just typed." The fact that you can still see the words originally typed is part of its subtle ironic use.
It's a part of net culture now, but it actually originated with old teletype terminals. These ancient terminals would actually print, in dot-matrix on paper, as you sat and typed at the keyboard attached to it. But it couldn't do backspacing properly, and so would just print the ASCII character control-H, which is otherwise known as BS or BackSpace. |
Thanks, UT. That could be very useful to a smartass (sorry Ury) as a weapon of mock deletion.
Now if I could only decipher that snizzle, mizzle, drizzle crap, I'd be a hep cat.:D |
I know; it's really lame of me. It's like using mock html tags [sarcasm]The RIAA would sue their own mothers, or pods, or whatever[/sarcasm].

Not at all, it's a great tool. I just wasn't up to speed. I've often wished that I could cross something out in emails or posts like I can in letters. Thanks for the tip.

I think you're wrong there, Billy. They look like they have been color enhanced/manipulated. The mountain is green but the reflection in the water is white. The purple on the cloud edges looks like the blue in the sky was enhanced and several other things. Of course I could be wrong because I'm assuming the camera is of good quality and it might not be.:)

Bee-Yoo-Tee-Full CHINA!
Dear Billy-
Those pictures of Southwestern China are stunning! Are you using any special devices and/or processes to achieve such breathtaking colors? Also, what make and model camera do you use? If you are using some sort of special filters to achieve such splendid hues, I'd like to get some for my spectacles. Talk about your rose tinted glasses. One thing sure seems to be missing in Southwestern China...Where are the roads? How can I truly appreciate such a place fully, if Christine and I can't see the colors blur at 100? Oh, and are there any good Oldies/Rock-n-Roll stations there? If yes on both roads/oldies, Christine and I can't wait to get container-shipped to China real soon! :D Your pal, Fluffy |
