Of course there's joy in parenthood. You wouldn't know it talking to my friends, though. They'd rather say things like, "So... you're going to be cleaning up shit from now on, right? Heh heh. How do you feel about THAT?" The odd thing is that they think they're being helpful..

All these new colors are because they can. Better living through chemistry. They need more colors because all the damn cars look alike these days, sez the old fart.

In all fairness Juju, it's kind of a rite of passage. You'll do it to others someday. After you've faced the horror of what a baby can deposit into a diaper. And the stench...
Also, telling you about the good parts wouldn't be any fun. Heck, it might even involve discussing emotions. So, unless you're talking to a chic that's not going to happen.

On the upside Juju, you'll be able to roll your eyes and nod knowingly. You'll be a party to the inside joke.;)

im sure you already realise this, juju, but seriously, being a dad is (at least to me) the most fun you could ever imagine. and no amount of baby shit, sleepless nights or spit-up peas can dilute that. now i havent yet been the father of a teenager, so it might change dramatically as time goes on.

Parenthood rocks! The kid poop thing just becomes part of the scenery after a while. The everpresent diaper bucket gets old fast, but pretty soon they're off to school and you realize how much you want to be with the shrimps.

I actually think that Undertoad's picture of the caramel colored car looks good.

However, my town annually hosts a Lost in the Fifties car parade, so I recently saw a lot of really old cars. And the paint colors they had were usually ugly.

So bring on the new colors!

I have a Triumph motorcycle that is something they call "British Racing Green." I want a Jag in English Racing Green to go with it.

I like green. I am also a vehicular transportation masochist.

Thanks for the encouragement, guys. :)

They don't call Lucas the lord of darkness for nothing.:D
I had a old Hillman that had the taillight wire attached to the socket with an amazing connector made of 7 pieces of finely machined brass. The insulation fell off the wire!

Repent Green Bashers! My first was green- a late 70s Datsun, mostly murky creature from the black lagoon green except where it was worn to the base metal. I have a great fondness particularly for the bright pea green, the VW aphids!, or posher, sagey metalic greens like Ive seen on my friend's new Saab.

My mother had a Datsun! It might have been the same color, too! I have a particular affinity for that car, it is among my happy childhood memories (I seem to have forgotten many of the unhappy ones, hurray!)

BLACK. As god intended.:thumb:

I had a 1973 Chrysler New Yorker that I deemed cannabis green. And it seated 7 comfortably. And got 10 miles per gallon.

I also have a fondness for green cars ... My first (a 1980 Datsun 210) was Forest Green, and my beloved 1994 Eagle Talon was Emerald Green Pearlcoat (with a black roof -- the two tone paint job was standard, and looked damn cool)
