Cep't the other side has callers and other methods too, so it's a necessary evil sort of thing.

~ now what are the seven things I'm supposed to vote for again ~

BigV 11-07-2016 01:36 PM

I am very excited!

Ah, BUT! If the legislation passes, campaign money is significantly bottlenecked, and lobbyists can't funnel millions in anymore to pay for these calls. The only calls that get made then are the volunteer calls from people who care about the issue. It's a necessary evil that could potentially make itself obsolete.

Why Vote for the Lesser Evil? Cthulhu for President 2016.

xoxoxoBruce 11-07-2016 05:16 PM

Because it can defeat the GREATER evil... duh. :eyebrow:

Yeah, the deal is still in place. It will be interesting to see how many more votes are cast for Toomey and McGinty than Don and Hill.

Did you know they have software that can put you on a phone bank from home, through your computer? I'm going to be sitting back and relaxing this afternoon in my comfy chair, calling people in Washington State about voting yes on the anti-corruption legislation. No joke. It starts from the bottom up.

Ha!

You mean this?

This that I voted in favor of YESTERDAY?

I agree. Public office, public elections, publicly financed. Hell yes.

Clodfobble 11-08-2016 11:26 PM

Well... at least measure 22 in South Dakota (the one I phonebanked for) is currently ahead. Only by 7,400 votes with 83% reporting, but we're ahead.

Unfortunately the equivalent measure in Washington state is down by 95,000 votes with 61% recording, much less hopeful. Obviously they should have had me calling their residents.

It would appear that people in general got scared into line. Voting is still a team sport.

It was once called 'coat tails'. Coat tails are no longer fashionable. But fanatics for sport teams are.

IT COULD BE WORSE -- Clinton could have won.
