Have your fun in San Francisco. I don't remember there being much in Santa Cruz which is on the other side of the Bay from where I lived in Monterey. The Mission (de la Exaltación de la Santa Cruz) has an interesting story; but, it was destroyed in an earthquake and what's there now is a half size replica. I was disappoint. Fortunately, there was a winery or two not far off of Highway 1 between the two cities to accent the scenic motorcycle jaunt with girlfriend. Enjoy your event.

We're gonna kayak among the kritters. And then watch water polo for three days straight. And feel weird cos no kids for first time in 18 years... ;) ...then we'll call them, text then and check on Powerschool to see what homework one of hem has.. Then call and text again....

Hey kids, call the police department telling them you are the folks and you're planning a big party. Tell them if the neighbors complain they don't have to send a cruiser, just call and you'll tone it down. Then call the liquor store and the Deli, with mom's credit card, and ...

...and if they're worried about being confronted by an intruder in the home, they can call this 11 y.o. for advice on how to handle it.

one did text me a couple of days ago to ask exactly when we were coming home.... then he texted beest a few minutes later to find out how to put the dishwasher on. Still came home to two plus dishwasher loads :lol:
