Thanks for taking time out of your Christmas to post these for Sundae, Carruthers.
Happy Holidays, sir. |
Thank you Mr. G!
Compliments of the season, to you! |
Yeah, you're a gentleman, in the best sense of the word.
Oh noes, they put the green balls of death on the main. |

Boxing Day.
Once again, Sundae and I have harnessed the forces of technology to bring you the latest pictures.
This morning Sundae and her parents visited the Covent Garden area of central London. If you mention Covent Garden to anyone it's probable that they will either think of the Royal Opera House or, more likely, the former wholesale fruit, vegetable and flower market of the same name. The RoH is still very much there but the market moved to a location three miles away and south of the river. Somewhat confusingly, it's now known as 'New Covent Garden Market' despite being in a different borough. The original site was refurbished to become a highly popular shopping centre and tourist area with bars, cafes and theatres. As Sundae says, 'there's always a wheel somewhere', in this case it's in nearby Leicester Square. Covent Garden pics coming up next. http://s4.postimg.org/parh12gql/20151226_120539.jpg http://s10.postimg.org/bymeqh60p/20151226_121424.jpg I'm informed that the T-shirt is a Christmas present. :) PS Isn't that a great hat? |

Sundae's Mum and dad in front of the Christmas tree give an indication of the size of it, and that's a rather splendid Christmas reindeer in front of the old market hall. |
Oh that hat! I am green with envy!

Back to Leicester Square, briefly. These two were taken from the big wheel in the square, the first showing the Odeon cinema which recently hosted the UK premiere of the latest Star Wars film. The second shows the London Eye, as featured earlier, and just to the right the top of Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square can be seen with an unfortunately positioned crane close behind. |
Pausing only to put on her architecture enthusiast's hat, Sundae took these two on her way back from Covent Garden to the hotel.

So the Covent Garden Market drew tourists for it's local London flavor, but they moved it three miles away to make room for the tourists. :haha:

Italian cuisine has been chosen for this evening's fine dining...
